2)Cách dùng:
a)Đại từ nhân xưng chủ ngữø (subject) : làm chủ cho hành động , sự việc
EX:- He is a teacher. ng ấy là giáo viên.
- He listens to music. Anh ấy nghe nhạc.
b)Đại từ nhân xưng tân ngữ : làm đối từ cho động từ , luôn luôn đứng sau động từ.
EX: - Look at him. Hãy nhìn anh ta.
- Can you help me? Bạn có thể giúp tôi không ?
c) Tính từ sở hữu : luôn luôn đứng trước danh từ để bổ nghóa cho danh từ .
EX : This is my book. Her mother is a teacher.
Đây là sách của tôi. Mẹ bạn ấy là giáo viên.
B. TENSES - Thì
1. The simple Present tense: Thì hiện tại đơn
Thì hiện tại đơn dùng để diễn tả một thói quen hay một hành động xảy ra thường xuyên ở hiện tại.

Thường có các trạng từ đi kèm như : every day , every morning , every month , always, usually,
often, sometimes, seldom, never…
a) With “to be” : Với động từ “to be”

Chú ý:
* Với những động từ tận cùng bằng O, S, Z, Sh, Ch chủ ngữ ở ngôi thứ 3 số ít ta phải thêm “ es “.
EX: He goes by bike.

* Động từ tận cùng bằng “y” ta phải đổi “y” ra “ i” trước khi thêm “es”

(study -> studies ; carry -> carries)
EX: He studies English at school.
2) The present progressive tense: (thì hiện tại tiếp diễn)
Diễn ta một hành động, một sự việc đang xảy ra lúc ta nói .
Thường có các trạng từ đi kèm như : now, right now, at present, at the moment , at this time…
KĐ S + be (am / is / are) + V – ing .
PĐ S + be (am / is / are ) + not + V- ing .
NV Be ( Am / Is / Are) + S + V-ing ?
EX:a) He is listening to music now . b) They are playing soccer at the present.

3) Động từ khiếm khuyết :
CAN : có thể (chỉ khả năng)
CAN NOT : không thể (không được phép)
MUST : phải (chỉ sự cần thiết )
MUST NOT : không được phép (chỉ sự cấm đoán)
EX: My sister can drive a car. Chò tôi có thể lái xe.
I am not fine. I must go to bed now.
Tôi không khỏe. Tôi phải đi ngủ ngay bây giờ.
