Advantages and disadvantages of studying oversea

TOPIC: THE ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF STUDYING
OVERSEAS
We mostly do wish to improve our knowledge for a better life by the way of
studying abroad. And in most case, we choose to study in developed countries to get a
progressive education. The reality is that there are more and more young people
choose to study abroad rather than in local universities. In my opinion, studying
overseas will bring to us both the advantages and disadvantages.
First of all, when studying abroad we have a very good opportunity to improve our
language. Since we live with local people surrounding, we practice with native
speaker in every aspect of life. The environment there force us have to use English
day by day. Therefore, naturally we have chance to practice and improve our
language.
Secondly, when we live in a new environment, it offers chance for us to broaden
our mind. We experience the culture, custom, lifestyles and self-survive ability as
well. People live in their own way and they face with problem in positive ways. We
interact with different people come from different culture. Especially, you may make
friends with many kinds of people from different countries. It should be interesting
for us to have friends around the world and learn from different languages and
cultures.
Furthermore, studying abroad is the best way for us to learn from new high
technology and methodology that we never get before in hometown. We may touch
with the modern world that we used to see in TV only. And then, our life experiences
much fun when life is totally different from our previous one. We will experiences
more to be independently and self-confident. That is really useful living skills for us.
However, life in another country may not always be beautiful as we wish. The first
tough aspect is that we may get shock with the culture and their life style rather enjoy
with something new. While we have to adopt with the change of weather, we must
know how to survive independently. Somehow, the food taste and the way they eat
also do make us feel strange from. Financial problem is another scenario we should
consider too. If lucky, you may not need to worry about this matter. Otherwise, life in
foreign country is quite expensive. Apart from tuition fees, we have to pay for hostel,

living expenses and others. Some students have to work during duration course.
Consequently, it distracts our mind from studying to earning money and somehow it
affects on your study outcomes.
At last but not least, new environment need to be adapting is a real challenge for
every foreign student. While changing different cultures and customs may influence
our mind, somehow it causes a victim of discrimination and makes us become less
confident. That leads to the fact that we may turn into a struggle for survival in a
strange country. If we do not have enough physical and mental strength, we will fail
to adjust ourselves in the new environment. As a result, we could neither study nor
getting beautiful experiences as we have expected.
In conclusion, apart from studying abroad offers great opportunities for a better
future, it also has challenges for every foreign student. For international students, I
think the most critical way of well-study is being good at managing time and know
how to adapt to new environment. However, new environment need sometimes to
absorb, explore and understand more about the country and people surrounding. I
believe that everything we do in this life will have two sides affect in both positive and
negative way. The important thing is that since we choose our own way; just strive to
be the best one.
