I.The aims of the lesson:T helps Ss to practise the structure they have learnt more
fluently.
- Vocabulary: Review
- Grammar: Review the structure : Used to + bare V
-Skills: - Main skills:- Speaking and writing
-Sub-skills: Listening and reading
II. The Objectives of the lesson : - Students know about how to use the
structure :Used to+ bare V
-By the end of the lesson, students will be able to do exercises perfectly and correctly.
III. Teaching aids.
-Picture, word- cures cards. Work books
IV. Procedures :
1. Review: - Remind the students the past simple tense
.2. Warm up: * Chatting
3. Pre- teach vocabulary- Dictation ( check vocabulary)
4.Presentation . -Remind
*Form: (+) S + Used to + bare V
Ex: I used to get up late last year but now I don’t.
(-) S + didn’t + used to + bare V
- I didn’t use to get up late last year .
( ?) ( Wh-word ) + Did + S + use to + bare V ?

- What did you use to do last year?
- Usage: the structure express an action often happen in the past.


5. Controlled Practice:.
– Ask students to practise to make sentences using the structure :
S + used to + bare V
* Model: clean the floor
Student: I used to clean the floor
tidy the room watch TV play soccer
read English book cook dinner do housework
6. Production: *. Supply the correct verb form: Simple past or Past continuos.
1. When I (arrive) at this house, he still (sleep).
2. The light (go) out while we (have) dinner.
3. Bill (have) breakfast when I (stop) at this house this morning.
4. As we (cross) the street, we (see) an accident.
5. Tom (see) a serious accident while he (stand) at the bus stop.
6. While my father (read) a newspaper, I (learn) my lesson and my sister (do) her
homework.
7. The children (play) football when their mother (come) back home.
8. The bell (ring) while Tom (take) a bath.
9. I (be) very tired because I (work) all day yesterday.
10. He (sit) in a cafe when I (see) him.
-Ask students to do exercises in exercise books.

7. Homework assignment:
