A has a long black hair, a bright eyes and a straight nose. She is very good looking.
Special, her smile always makes me feel warm.
She has a kind heartand is easy to get on with everybody. She is always ready to
help our weak friend in their study so lots of weak and average pupils in our class,
thanks to her whole hearted help, have become good ones.
I like A because of her honesty and filial piety. After school, she often spends most
of her time doing useful things to help her parents. In the evening, she also works
as a tutor. Therefore the money she gets from her manual job is sufficient for her
parents ‘ s gifts. We have been friends for a very long time. The deeper our mutual
understanding becomes the more we feel closely attached to each other.
I am so lucky to have a such friend. I really treasure this friendship and hope that it
will last forever.

A sample story ( 1 câu chuyện):

It was a beautiful morning 3 months ago when I was having my breakfast in a fast
food stall. This stall was my favourite place so I went to everyday.
That day I noticed a strange men sitting in the left corner. He was in black suit and
wore black glasses with black suitcase in his band. That men on black reminded
me of some guys working for CIA, FBI or secret spies in several action movies I
had seen. They were trained to gather evidence and to kill people.
My thoughts were disrupted when I realized it was a bit late. So I stood up to pay
my bills and went home. However that strange man followed me from the stall.

Immediately, I thought “ He is going to kill me” and ran for my life. After running
for a while, unfortunately I ran into dead and street. I heard the football nearer and
nearer. No matter how loudly I shouted, nobody heard my voice. He got closer to
me anf I said in scare “Please ... please don’t kill me! You can take anything you
want!”. He laughed : “ Kill you. Why do I have to kill you ? I just want to bring
back your wallet which you drooped at the stall”. Then I felt so ashamed and
thanked him for his kindness.
But the story didn’t end here. I went home did realized that all my money had
disappeared.

The Dalat Flower Festival is a festival held in Dalat city, Lam Dong Province,
Vietnam. The festival is a special event for local people of Dalat.
The first festival was celebrated in 2005. In the festival, Dalat is decorated by
colour of flowers species. Hundreds of little sceneries, flower baskets, bonsai are
set around major destinations such as Xuan Huong Lake, Prenn waterfall, Le Dai
Hanh flower street – Ong Dao Bridge.
Many couples go to there for a picnic by train, horse-drawn carriage, twin bicycle
around Xuan Huong Lake or listen to legendary Langbian love story. And nothing
is more wonderful than enjoying famous wine, tea, and coffee of this highland city.
The festival is a good opportunity to introduce special locals such as famous
vegetable and flower planting as well as Dalat’s wine production which has been
successful for years.

Thank you for the last letter. I am sorry to hear that you have problems with your
health and your work. I thought I must write back straight away give you some
advice.
First of all, you said you want to be healthy and fit. Why don’t you go to a gym,
play some sports such as football, tennis? I also suggest that you should eat more
vegetables and fruits, less meat and go to bed early and get up early. If you do that,
you will have a good health.
Second, you said that you are bored of your new job. I think you should try to
improve your relationship with your colleagues and try to learn from them. If you
do that, you will rely on their help in difficult situations and will be given many
useful advice by them. So far, you will love your job.

A sample review : (Bài phê bình)

In the realistic critical literature from 1930 to 1945, I like “Lao Hac” by Nam Cao
best.
‘Lao Hac’ is considered a literary work with high value of reality criticism over the
Vietnamese society before 1945. This story reflects the poverty and miseries of the
poor, especially farmers who were attached to their lands and villages.

The main character of the story is Mr. Hac, a very poor farmer, whose boy lived
and worked far from the family. He had a dog and it was his only close friend. Like
other people at that time, Mr. Hac was so poor that he couldn’t support himself.
Having nothing to eat to survive, he had to sell his only dog for a little money, but
it didn’t help him continue his long life.
When thinking about his child, he didn’t want to sell his house or his small piece of
land. He found it impossible to suffer such miserable life any more. In the depth of
despair, he killed himself.
The more I read Lao Hac, the more I bore a grudge against the French colonialists
and feudalists together with their henchmen’s oppression and exploitation of
Vietnamese poor peasants and I also understand Mr. Hac’s noble sacrifice
originated in his love for his son. Had Nam Cao found an active way of escape for
his characters, his masterpiece would have had a deeper influence on the readers.

In our life, many people come and leave but some of them stay in our heart forever.
To me, this people is A.
A was much taller and skinner than I. He was also very agile. That was why he was
qualified for our school basketball team. He was also one of our school’s best

Though A was very involved in sports and games, he was very disciplined. He
always finished his homework on time. In fact, he was always one of the top pupils
in class.
One major belief that both of us agree on was that friends should share their

The first problem was that the meal hadn’t already been served on the table when I
returned the hotel. And I called that the main course was frog legs fried in butter –
myfavourite dish- but on the plate were some fried chicken legs. Angrily I called
the cook and pointing to the dish I asked him why frod legs had been changed to
chicken ones but my conplants were like water off a duck’s back!
The second problem was that the hot water system didn’t work. I phoned the hotel
manager’s office but nobody arrived. At last, I had to boil some water because I
was used to taking hot baths.
I’m not satisfied with your service. I require you to give me your clear explanation
about this problem. I also hope you resolve it quickly.

It’s obvious that in our present society there are two different classes : the rich and
the poor. The poor have to suffer a lot of hardship and insufficiency, especially at
the North moutain areas of Vietnam. This region has the highest poverty rate
nationwide. In my opinion, I have two plans :
Plan 1 : The goverment gives them priority to borrow capital at a low interest rate
and mobilizes societies to help them and supply them with food, clothes and
money.
Plan 2 : Open more career schools for young people. After learning a career, they
will be introduced to some companies. As a result, the rate of unemployment will
be reduce and the economic of local will be improve.
I really want my plans to become the truth and I wish that citizens, regardless of
their class and function, would contribute something to the Relief Funds to relieve
the sufferings of these unlucky people.

12. A sample memorable the place (Sự kiện đáng nhớ)
Last week an exhibiton of paintings by famous artists was organized by the cultural
and Artistic Association at the Art Gallery. Being very fond of painting , I myself
went there early in the morning.
When I arrived, the Art Gallery had been packed with people. Groups by groups of
people were entering the exhibition halls, their faces were radiant with joy.
On the walls, different patterns of morden paintings were hung : charcoal
drawings, pencil drawings and oil paintings were on display. Most of them reflect
daily activities and some of them bring us into a world of imagination and dreams.
An oil painting by Lu Tong Dao portraying a scene at twilight in the country
attracted my attention best. The painting did remind me of my happy boyhood in
my native village where I lived my happiest days in my life.
The exhibition offered me precious minutes of relaxtion and enriched my
imagination. It brought me back into my happy and peaceful past, full of love and
tenderness, among my dear ones.
