Favourite
book:
Since I was a little child, I felt most interested in reading different types of books,
especially story books by famous authors. One of my favorite books is “Chicken soup for

the soul” which was written by Jack Canfield, a well- known writer all over the world.
There are two reasons why I spend a lot of time reading it.
Firstly, Chicken soup for the soul is a beautiful book. It has a clear layout, so it’s easy
to read. It was written in two languages, English and Vietnamese. This helps me improve
my English. I can understand the stories in both languages. This is one of the reasons why I
really like reading the book . With nice covers, cute and vivid design, Chicken soup for the
soul is very suitable to give as a gift to friends and loved ones.
About the content of the book, it is divided into 2 main parts, they are Love and Life.
Each part contains 2 sections. The book tells us about many important values in life: love
between members in a family and love for everything around us, so that I can find faith and
courage in life, overcome difficulties and create the value of my own.
Secondly, “Chicken soup for the soul” has made me change my mind in order to
become a good person. From the stories, I learn about the difficulties in life.
Besides, I learn what the happiness is and how to maintain the happiness that each of
us has. Every story can change my mind, my heart and my life. So, I can say that this book
has a positive impact on me.
To sum up, I believe that these stories will not only help me learn English but also
make a difference, bring source of inspiration for you and me to live better, and you will
realize that your spiritual life is better after reading each story in the book.

2. Talk something your favourite season in a year.
There is nothing to beat the beauty of a spring in a tropical country. Spring occurs in
late January or early February.
The sky is full blue, the birds sing, the flowers bloom. The weather is very warm and

changeable. It is indeed the best part of the year; it is welcome like Tet in VietNam.
Have you ever realized the coziness which spring brings ? It helps family members to
come together. People enjoy special food such as sticky rice cakes and take part in famous
festivals. Moreover, Children can get a lot of lucky money and wear new clothes.
Thus, spring is not only a time of colour but also a time of family members to reunite
together.
3. Talk something your holiday/ summer Vacation
Last year, my summer vacation lasted 1 month. My family decided to go to Sapa
which is a famous destination in Lao Cai Province and we had a wonderful time there.
First, we were impressed by the natural charm of Sapa. We visited many sights in SP
such as: Silver waterfall, Ta Phin village and so on. ... SP has a natural beauty with high
moutains, white clouds, ... Especially, the atmosphere in this small town is very fresh and
cool. We like the feeling of walking along the street at night and ate delicious food. You
can feel on 4 seasons one day.


In addition, SP has attracted us because of its cultural diversity. Along the streets of
this beautiful city, we can see women and children from ethnic minorities. All of them
dressed in their traditional way. It made us surprised to find that they can talk to the foreign
visitors in English fluently and accurately. We have learned many interesting things about
the custom and culture of various ethnic minorities in northwest Vietnam.
Returning to my city, we still could not forget the trip to SP. It was indeed an
interesting summer vacation.

My best friend is Tien. We have known each other since we were 5 years old.
However, we became best friends when we were in grade 3. At that time I was very bad at
English, and it was him who helped me improve my English. Now He lives with his
parents in Chu Van An street- Lien Bao ward.
If I had to describe how he looks, I would say he is very handsome and good
looking. He has short black hair, a straight nose and a square face. He is quite strong. I

usually see him wearing jeans and a T - shirt. He has a very nice personality and a
wonderful sense of humor. He’s kind and honest. He always ready to help me or give me
advice when I need.
What I like about Tien is that he has same hobbies with me. We both enjoy singing
watching cartoon and reading comic books. We study together rand like going for a picnic
with our classmates. In addition, since I am better in Maths and Science and he is better in
English and languages, we can always help each other if we get confused about difficult
homework. We are so lucky that we get along so well.
I must say, so far, Tien has been my best friend. I love and respect him for his
helpfulness, kindness, and friendliness. I hope that our friendship can last long.

I study in Lien Minh primary school. It is one of the best schools in Vinh Phuc
province. It consists of 5 buildings. Our school has the facilities of a modern school, such
as well furnished and airy class rooms, computer roon, music room, a big library with a
huge collection of books and a vast play ground.
Our school is situated next to the road. There is motorway leading from the main
entrance. The playground is in the middle of the motorway and a big garden. When you
enter the school, the principal’s room is straight ahead on the second floor. It is all well
furnished. There are fourty- one classrooms. . The school library has an up-to-date
collection of books on many subjects. Our librarian is very helpful.
Our school, like other schools, has prescribed a uniform for us. We have to wear
black trousers and a white shirt. The girls have to wear white shirts and black skirts.
Our principal is very strict as she pays attention to behavior, punctuality and
cleanliness. The most well-behaved and punctual students will be praised assigned as the
prefect class.
Our teachers are also very strict but friendly. They teach us with the utmost care,
help us in times of need.

I like my school very much and am proud to be a student of that school.

I live in Vinh Phuc province which has many beautiful destinations. One of the best
destinations I’d like to talk about today is Dai Lai Lake which is situated at the foot of
Tam Dao Mountain in Phuc Yen Town, 50km from Hanoi.
Dai Lai Lake is an artificial lake with 525ha. The climate and weather in Dai Lai
are rather stable. It is cooler in Summer and warmer in Winter compared to Hanoi.
Animals are not many but there are several species: monkeys, deer, fox squirrel and
several bird species under protection. In Dai Lai, there are many modern villas, golf fields,
and commercial centers. In the middle of the lake, there is a small but beautiful island
which is the home for many birds. There are also a lot of activities visiter can do here such


as going fishing, going boating, walking along the sides of the lake to enjoy fresh
atmosphere, or playing goft…
In a near future Dai Lai shall be an attractive area for recreation sports, weekend
holidays, sightseeing to local and international tourists.

My favourite food is Pho which is a traditional dish of Vietnam. It is one of the most
delicious dishes not only in Vietnam but also all over the world according to a newspaperCNN. Maybe, every Vietnamese people like Pho and me too. I like Pho because of many
reasons.
Firstly, I like its ingredients. The main ingredients of noodles are noodles and broth
with beef or chicken meat sliced thin, soy sauce, pepper, lemon juice, fish sauce, chili ...
These spices are added according to the users' taste. "Noodle" is traditionally made from
rice flour, made with a thin sheet and cut into fibers. Broth is generally made of bone of
beef or chicken. All of these make a bowl of Pho more attractive.
Secondly, it’s healthy. This menu meets the values that our body needs. It provides
proteins from meat and a source of many nutrients, including fiber, folate (folic acid) and
vitamins A, E and C from different kinds of vegetables.
Thirdly, Thirdly, I like it because it is not that much expensive to prepare.
I eat this menu 3-4 times in a week. Sometimes I eat it in a restaurant and
sometimes, my mother cooks it for me. There are many delicious dishes, but I can say that
I like Pho the most.
