The internet is a wonderful invention of modern life as it has greatly changed our way of
living. However, the widespread use of the internet has also brought many problems .
First, many people are becoming addicted to the internet. They spend much time playing
computer games or just surfing the net without any reason. Therefore, their time for studying
is reduced, and this consequently lower their study achievement .
Second, the internet hinders students from doing their homework on their own. Thanks to the
internet, students can obtain the information they need simply by visiting a webpage.
However, this can do more harm than good . For instance, when students are given an
assignment, many of them just go to websites where their needed information is posted, and
copy it.
Last but not least, the internet damages our health. People who spend too much time working
or playing on the net are likely to suffer from headaches , dry eyes , dislocation of joints , and
mental problems.
An obvious solution is for parents to control their children’s surfing time and for the
authorities to restrict operation of internet centers and ban websites with harmful contents.
The users themselves have to realize their true targets of living. By doing this, the internet
could always be a miracle of human’s intelligence.
