London, the capital of Great Britain, is situated on the Thames River. It is the largest city in Europe with
a population of over eight millions. It is divided into four parts: the City, Westminster, the West End and the
East End.
The City is small in area but it is the commercial heart of London. Many banks and offices are situated
there. St. Paul’s Cathedral is very large and fine. It was built in 1710. The famous English architect,
Christopher Wren, planned and built St. Paul’s Cathedral. If the City may be called the commercial heart of
London, Westminster is the center of the administration. We can see the Houses of Parliament there. It is a
beautiful building with two towers and a very big clock called Big Ben. Westminster Abbey is opposite the
Houses of Parliament.
The West End with the best and most expensive clubs, restaurants and theatres, beautiful houses and
parks is the place where rich people live. Working people live in the East End where there are no parks or
gardens and no fine houses.

Paragraph sample:
There are many ways to save energy at home. In the day time, we can open the windows to let the sunsight
come into our houses instead of using too many bulbs. Besides, it is advisable to use saving-energy bulbs
which also save money by reducing electricity bill. Then when we leave rooms, we should turn off unused

lights. In other words, we should turn off any electrical appliances such as fans, air-conditioner, televisions
when we do not actually need them. Similarly, we should use water economically by switching the faucets
off when getting enough water. Plastic bags should be reused many times, too. Used bottles can be recycled
effectively if we give them to collectors. To sum up, energy can be saved by our actions at home.
