I- Reading comprehension.

Read the passage carefully and answer the following questions
1/ Once there were a lot of pandas in the mountains of Western China. Today they are becoming
extinct. The reason is that they can’t not find enough food. Pandas eat bamboo leaves. They do
not like another food. The bamboo grows very slowly .It can take 10 years for a bamboo to grow
from a seed to a big plant. Some types of bamboo have seeds only once 60 years. Pandas must
wait many years for their food to grow.
The Wolong Reserve has the highest number of pandas in the world. Scientist come here to study
panda’s eating and mating habits to save it from extinction.

2/ Yellowstone National Park, the first US national park, was established in 1872. It is one of the
largest parks. It spreads about 3,500 square miles or 9,063 square kilometers of north-west
Wyoming and parts of Idaho and Montana. It has many wild animals, including bears, buffalo,
elk, deer, antelope, coyotes, and lynxes, and is famous for its tine scenery, hot springs and
geysers (underground hot spring that shoot hot water or steam up into the air). There are about
seventy geysers in the park. The famous is old Faithful.
The park is a favorite tourist attraction. It has about three million visitors a year. It was
called a World Heritage Site in 1978.
