I. WARM – UP: 10’
- Review all the forms and usages of the present simple,
past simple, and past perfect.
- T explains.
- Ss take note.
II. GRAMMAR: 15’
A. The present perfect passive
- a. Form:
- Affirmative:
- Negative:
- Interrogative:
S + have/has + been + V3/ed
S + have/has + not + been + V3/ed
Have/Has + S + been + V3/ed?
Ex: - He has just done his homework.
His homework has just been done (by him).
B. The present simple passive
- a. Form:
- Affirmative:
S + am/is/are + V3/ed

Am/is/are + S + V3/ed?
Ex: My father waters flowers everyday.
Flowers are watered by my father everyday.
C. The past simple passive

Ex: I repaired my car yesterday.

D. The passive voice of modal verbs

Modal verbs + S + be + V3/ed?
Ex: You must finish the report right now.
The report should be finished right now.
- T asks Ss to turn these sentences into
passive voice.
- Ss do the task given in pairs.
- T calls some students answer and
corrects.
III. Practice: 20’
Turn these sentences into passive voice.
1. No one has opened that box for the past hundred
years.
That box hasn’t been opened for the past hundred
years.
2. The fire destroyed many houses yesterday.
Many houses were destroyed by the fire yesterday.
3. You should wash the dishes.
The dishes should be washed.
4. Do they change the window of the laboratory ?
Is the window of the laboratory changed?
5. Has Tom finished the work ?
Has the work been finished by Tom?
6. The teacher won’t correct exercises tomorrow.
Exercises won’t be corrected by the teacher
tomorrow.
7. He can’t repair my bike.
My bike can’t be repaired.
