- T calls some Ss to write the

feedback.

using because of and in spite of.

Even though + S +V  Despite / In spite of + Noun/ V-ing
Though
Ex: 1/ They came to the concert though it was raining
heavily.
 They came to the concert in spite of the heavy rain.
2/ Although it is a very hot day, I shall go for a walk.
 In spite of a hot day, I will go for a walk.
3/ Although he is very wealthy, he is not happy.
 In spite of being very wealthy, he is not happy.
III. Practice: 25’

1. Fill in the blanks, using because, because of, although,
in spite of.
1. Although he often tells lies, many people believe him.
2. She didn’t go to class this morning because she had a bad
cold.
3. In spite of their poverty, they are very generous.
4. Everyone loves her because of her good behaviour.
2. Rewrite these sentences using because of and in spite of
1. My sister will take a plane even though she dislikes flying.

2. She went to bed early because she felt tired.
