Everyday Words Lists
The following everyday expressions are used in Lesson 3: Speaking and in Lesson
4, Session 2: Grammar in conversation and the song or rhyme.
Children should not be expected to learn these expressions as vocabulary items.
They are included in the dialogues so that children are exposed to the use and tone
of them in everyday conversation.
Children may be encouraged to notice these expressions, the situations in which
they are used and to understand their meanings in context. To help children to do
this, remind them of the expressions or write them on the board. Play the track.
Children listen and raise their hands when they hear the expressions.
This extra listening may be done at the end of the lesson if there is time.
Alternatively, it may be used as a Warm-up activity in other lessons or as a revision
activity during the course.
In the list below, the track numbers are given for Speaking dialogues (S) and
Grammar in Conversation dialogues (G/C) and the song or rhyme.
