Listening transcript:

H: Hello this is Sea View Hotel
J: Hello. My name is John Saunders. I’d like to book two rooms from the 21 st to the 31st of
August.
H: OK, I will check that for you... So that’s Sunday 24 th to Wednesday the 31st?
J: Yes, please.
H: Singles or doubles?
J: One single, with a sea view, and a double with a balcony, please.
H: Right. OK for those dates we have a double with a balcony, but it’s at the back and there is no
view – is that alright for you? Its quiet.
J: That’s fine. And the single room?
H: We are quite busy that week... Let me see... oh, yes there is a single with a sea view on the
second floor
J: Does it have an en suite with a bath?
H: Oh, no I’m afraid there is only a shower in that room.
J: Well I really need a room with a bath, it’s for my mum you see.
H: We do have a double room with a bath in the en suite free that week. It costs forty-five pounds
per night. Is that OK?
J: Yes. I think that’s affordable.
H: OK, so you are booking two doubles from the 21st to the 24th of August. Breakfast is included,
but other meals are self-catering. The prices are per room per night.
J: That’s fine.
H: OK so you are staying 10 nights. One room at thirty-five pounds per night, and the other at
forty-five pounds. That’s £800. You need to pay a ten percent deposit to book the room. You
can pay credit or debit card now, or send us a cheque.
J: I’ll pay the deposit now, thanks.
