SINGULAR AND PLURAL
Singular = one thing/person (1)
Plural = two or more things/persons (2+)

To put nouns in the plural, a lot of verbs just add ‘s’ at the end. For example:
apple – apples

car – cars

house – houses

toy – toys

BUT there are some nouns that break the rules. Here they are:
Add ‘es’:

Change ‘y’ with
‘ies’:

Change ‘oo’
with ‘ee’:

brush – brushes

Change ‘f’ with
‘ves’:

kiss – kisses

leaf – leaves

family – families

goose – geese

church – churches

loaf – loaves

story – stories

foot – feet

match - matches

hoof – hooves

fairy – fairies

tooth - teeth

box – boxes

wife – wives

baby – babies
fly – flies

fox – foxes

Add ‘es’:
piano - pianos
Change ‘a’ with ‘e’:
man – men
woman – women
policeman - policemen

child - children

Stay the same:
fish – fish

BUT
Add ‘ice’:

deer – deer

mouse – mice

sheep - sheep

die – dice

quiz - quizzes

ox - oxen

potato – potatoes
tomato - tomatoes

stereo – stereos
