Option 1: Reading Exercise
Cut out the CVs and job advert cards and divide them into “CV
cards” and “job cards.”
Get the students to read each CV and then each job card fielding
questions on the vocabulary.
Students should then decide between them which CV goes with
which job offer.
Option 1: Role-play (small groups)
Cut out the CVs and job advert cards and divide them into “CV
cards” and “job cards.”
Get the students to read each CV and then each job card fielding
questions on the vocabulary.
With the students make a mind map of the kinds of questions that
are asked during job interviews. Don’t forget that candidates are
also expected to ask questions during an interview.
Two students should then be assigned as the interviewers and the
rest should be given the CV cards and assigned as the candidates.
Assign a weakness and a strength to each candidate (e.g. addicted
to chocolate, punctual etc.)
Students then take it in turns to be interviewed and the interviewers
should state their choices after the exercise.
For large groups several copies could be printed and the class
divided up into smaller groups of 6.
