Directions + past simple
Situation
John left the park and turned right in Apple street. At the corner he turned right again and went into
the town hall on his left. Then he went out and came back to Apple street. At the junction he turned
left and took the 2nd on his right. He first stopped at the green grocer on his left and then at the
bank just in front of it and next to the post office. He then turned right outside the building and , at
the corner he turned right in Peach street and walked into the second building on his left, the
clothes shop. Next he turned left and walked east and , at the corner he took Cherry street . He
first stopped at the chemist on his right and then at the church next to it. When he left the church
he went north , he crossed the junction and went straight on . He stopped at the 2 nd building on his
left to drink a coffee. He then went back and turned right in Sugar street. He walked along this
street to the library. He found it just after the 1 st building on his right next to the hospital and in front
of the police station. When he went out of the library he turned right and then left into Water street.
He stopped at the book shop on his right between the video shop and the travel agent. He then
crossed the street and entered the fast food just in front of him. He finally stopped walking and
started eating.
