PRESENT CONTINUOUS
(for the Future)

I am having a date
on 6 May with Ben.

FORMULA: BE (am, is, are) + ing
 diary / future time expression
(the future time is known)
 arrangement in the past
(at least between 2 people)


GOING TO future
Someday, I am going to be
an astronaut.

FORMULA: BE (am, is are) + GOING TO + verb
 plan, intention
(you plan to do sth, become sb in the future)
 no future time expression
(someday, sometime… in the future)
 future prediction based on evidence
(black clouds- it is going to rain)


WILL future / SIMPLE future
A: My head hurts .

B: I will get you an aspirin.


FORMULA: WILL + verb
 decision at the moment of speaking
(usually in a dialogue)
 promise, prediction, fact about future
(think, guess, hope, probably, possibly…)
