Lesson fit:
Sts have studied about everyday objects and pronunciation ending –
e/es in plural nouns.
Main Aims:
1. introducing count and uncountable nouns
2. Using there is / there are in answering what question.
Subsidiary Aims:
To have the students to use their speaking ability
Personal Aims
1. Personalize the students
2. Knowing what they want and how to comply with all their needs.
3. Use English as language of instruction
Expected Learners Outcomes:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to use there is and there
are and differentiate between count and uncountable nouns
Anticipated student’s problems (language/tasks/skills):
1. Students might hesitate to come
2. The audio might not be very clear

Divide the sts into 2 group. Play a-z nouns, write the
alphabet on the board in two columns, have each
group to stand in front of their chosen column, and
write nouns start with the first letter of the alphabet in
their column in limited time, check together with the
class for misspelling.
Introduce count and uncountable nouns using the sts
list on the board

Stages
Warm-up

Still using the list on the board, have the sts to make a
sentence using there is/are; what is this/are these;
where is/are the….; and the responses. Translate into
L1 if necessary
Distribute the food picture to each students. Have
them to divide the pictures into countable and
uncountable nouns in limited time. Write the answer on
the board
To
introduce
the Distribute the kitchen pictures to each sts. Elicit the
kitchen object
name of each item in the picture. Write on the board.
Using the food pictures, say: there is a… on/under/in
the basket ..etc. make sure that the sts understand
what to do
To practice using there Divide the sts into pair. Have each pair to sit with back

kitchen in 3 minutes. Sts B will listen for direction from
sts A about where to put the 6 food in the kitchen.
Check together with the class.
