What to do before a typhoon ?
Typhoon ia a violent tropical cyclone. When a tropical storm reaches 120 kms per hour, it is
called a typhoon. The word typhoon comes from Chinese “tai” means big and feng means wind
so the word typhoon meand ‘big wind’. Many people were killed, homes were tallen. It makes
landslide, mudslide anh heavy flooding.
So you should prepar before a typhoon : we have to store food for you and your family. You may
store canned food, dried food and water because no store open when a typhoon comes and we
can’t buy them. Let’s fix your house: chech and repair leaky roof, window,broken door…The
pipe can be broken and you don’t have water to drink so you should all the bucket with water. I
suggest preparing first aid kit. In includes basic medicines, rope emergency hot lines, your
information flashlight ,radio ,mobile telephone ,can opener, whistle. Also you should prepar
candles, matches to light a case the electricity is cut off.
During the typhoon: we have to be calm and careful, remember turn off all the
electricity.Especially, you shouldn’t go out. It’s neccesary to find a safe place such as under the
stair in the bathroom. You need to watch and listen the new to have a solution.. Elavate your
furniture such as frige TV, fan on to the second floor if your house has two floor or higher
places.We ought to take care of children and old people.

After the typhoon: we should help the victims, provide them food, water,clothing and
accomodations. Check for injured or trapped people near the affected area and seek medical
help if you or others are injured. Check water and electric lines for defects or damage . Also, you
should clean up your house ;check and fix your house. Don’t forget boil water before drinking.
Flood is very dangerous so we have prepar carefully before the typhoon comes to protect our life
and health in typhoon. I believe that if you these rules, you’ll minimize the consequences which
the typhoons cause.
