Just, yet, already, since, for are often used with the
present perfect.
Present perfect
Just – for recent events, after the auxiliary verb
have/has
with just, yet,
Yet – when we expect something to happen,
already, since,
usually at the end of a clause
and for
Already - when something has happened sooner
than expected, usually after the auxilia
ry verb have/has
for – the length of the period
since – starting point
Examples
Father has just left.
She has been here for three hours.
I haven’t finished my homework yet. I’ve lived in London since I was four.
Kate has already done the washing up.
