CHRISTMAS
2. Read and say What God wanted to give you and what this
gift means to you:

1. Learn the song:
"Silent Night"
1. Silent night, Holy night!
All is calm, all is bright,
Round yon Virgin Mother and Child,
Holy Infant so tender and mild;
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace.
2. Silent night, Holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight.
Glories stream from heaven afar,
Heav'nly hosts sing Hallelujah,
Christ the Saviour is born,
Christ the Saviour is born.
3. Silent night, Holy night!
Son of God, love's pure light.
Radiant beams from Thy holy face,
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus Lord at Thy birth.
(English words adapted from the original German
of Joseph Mohr music by Franz Gruber)

WHAT I WANT TO GIVE MY CHILDREN FOR CHRISTMAS
I have always wanted to give something of great importance
to my children.
I have struggled and tried to search deep within myself to
find the right gift.

I have thrown out the idea of giving material things, because
they fade and gather dust.
It cannot be a simple gift... It has to be better than all
the riches in the universe.
Do I want my children to succeed? Yes
Do I want my children to never want? Yes
Do I want my children to have peace of mind? Yes
Do I want my children to be healthy? Yes
Do I want them to feel like kings and queens? Yes
I want the most perfect gift in the universe.
I want a gift that will last beyond the end of time.
A precious, meaningful, and exceptional, Christmas gift.
My precious gift to them is LOVE
Love in their hearts and Love in their lives.
Not just any LOVE... a special kind of LOVE.
Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or proud;
Love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable;
Love does not keep a record of wrongs;
Love finds no joy in unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth;
Love never gives up; and its faith, hope, and patience never fail;
Love is eternal.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things,
endures all things.

3. Read and say: What Candy Cane means:
Christmas Candy Cane Poem about Jesus
Look at the Candy Cane
What do you see?
Stripes that are red

Like the blood shed for me
White is for my Savior
Who’s sinless and pure!
“J” is for Jesus My Lord, that’s for sure!
Turn it around
And a staff you will see
Jesus my shepherd
Was born for Me!

By Felicia Mollohan

4. How do you understand the words of this
poem?
Let Everyday Be Christmas
Christmas is forever,
not for just one day,
For loving, sharing, giving,
are not to put away.
Like bells and lights and tinsel,
in some box upon a shelf.
The good you do for others
is good you do yourself.
By Norman Wesley Brooks
