Oral Practice for
Instructions:
1. Review with your students the vocabulary about animals, colors and sizes in English.
2. Practice the necessary expressions to describe the animal of their preference. (favorite
animal)
3. Give them some ideas, like the ones included below.
4. Ask them to draw that animal they like the most.
5. Have them practice the expressions you gave them as examples, but now, adding the
information of the animal they drew.
6. Ask them to present their work in front of the class.
7. Prize their effort with some candy, to motivate them.
Example:
Good morning
This is a (animal)!
It’s color_______________
It’s a happy (animal)
It’s very nice!
I like the (animal)!
Thank you!
Finally, I suggest a rubric to evaluate the work done in the oral part, of course you can add
whatever you may consider useful for you and your students.
