Petrified Wood
• A type of fossil made of minerals.
• Occurs when wood is buried
under soil and dries. Later, it
combines with mineral water
and becomes a fossil.
• Petrified wood takes about 100
million years to petrify and
become stone.

Have lost 93% of their habitat
to modern cities.
Only 3,000-4,000 wild tigers left
in the world.
Can be 3.3 meters long and
weigh 310 kg.

Asian Elephant
The largest land animal.
Endangered
Only 36,000 wild elephants left
in Asia.
Herbivore, live in the jungle and
grasslands.
Trunks are 1.5 to 2 meters long
and have 60,000 muscles.
Live 50-80 years.
One of the most intelligent
animals, very social.
Turtles
There are over 70 species of
turtles in Thailand. Most of
them are endangered.
Swim underwater but must
breathe air.
Can sleep underwater for 4-7
hours without needing oxygen.
Some are herbivores, others
carnivores.
Live 40-60 years but some up to
150 years!
First appeared on Earth 220
million years ago.
