UNIT 4 : EXCLAMATORY SENTENSES WITH “WHAT…!”
We use exclamations to express strong emotions in a special way. It is important to know
how to make exclamations because they are very common in both speech and writing.
Study the following sentences.
That is a shocking report.
This is an assertive sentence expressing a strong feeling. We can express the same idea
using an exclamatory sentence.
What a shocking report! OR How shocking!
Note the use of the exclamation mark (!) at the end of the exclamatory sentence.
More examples are given below.

Cách sử dụng Would like
Would like được dùng diễn đạt một lời mời, ý muốn, sở thích, điều kiện cho một hành
động cụ thể ở tương lai...

- Would like + to do sth: Diễn đạt lời mời một cách lịch sự hoặc ý mình muốn.
Would you like to dance with me? à lời mời
Em nhảy cùng anh nhé?
I would like to be a billionaire. à thể hiện ý mình muốn
Tôi muốn trở thành tỉ phú.
- Không dùng do you want khi đưa ra lời mời.
- Wouldn't like = "không ưa"; don't want = "không muốn".
Would you like some more coffee? (Anh có muốn dùng thêm cà phê không?)
Polite: No, thanks/ No, I don't want any more. (Không, cảm ơn/Không tôi không dùng
nữa đâu) à cách từ chối lịch sự.
Impolite : I wouldn't like (thèm vào) à cách từ chối thô lỗ.
-Would like = would care / love / hate / prefer + to + verb: chỉ điều kiện cho một hành
động cụ thể ở tương lai.
Would you like/care to come with me? I'd love to.
Bạn có muốn đi cùng tôi không? Tôi rất thích.
- Would like / would care for / would enjoy + Verb-ing: diễn đạt khẩu vị, ý thích nói
chung của chủ ngữ.

Tôi thích trở thành người hùng.
Cụm từ would like có nghĩa là mong muốn và có cách dùng giống với động từ Want, tuy
nhiên Would like mang tính lịch sự hơn.
Woul like có nghĩa là Mời Mọc, Đề Nghị, Thể Hiện Ước Muốn
1. Dùng với từ What để hỏi về ước muốn của ai đó một cách lịch sự:
Công thức chung: What + would + S + like?
Với cấu trúc này, ta chỉ cần thay vào vị trí chủ ngữ (S) bằng các đại từ như: I, You, We,

Cách trả lời cho câu hỏi này như sau:
S + would like + N / to-infinitive
Sau “would like” là một danh từ (N) hay động từ nguyên mẫu có to (to-infinitive). Would
like rút gọn thành: ’d like.
Ví dụ:
- I’d like a cup of coffe.
Tôi muốn một tách cà phê.
- He’d like to go to the cinema tonight.
Tối nay anh ấy muốn đi xe phim.
Cách dùng này của would like thường được thấy sử dụng để gọi món trong nhà hàng.
- I’d like a beefsteak with salad.
Tôi muốn ăn bít tết với rau trộn.
2 . Để đề nghị hoặc mời ai đó một cách lịch sự:
Cấu trúc chung: Would you like + N / to infinitive…?
