Our research has two questions to answer :

• What are some factors affect speaking ability of the students
at class 10ENGLISH1, 10ENGLISH2, 10A1 and 10A2?

• What are some ways to improve their speaking ability?

What are some factors that affect their speaking skill?


What are some problems that students in 10 English in Hanoi National University of Education – high school for gifted students have to encounter in
learning speaking skill?


Observation results:
(1) There are no speaking lessons which are separated from other lessons.

(2) The students were not given enough time to prepare for a speaking
task before the task was performed and to perform their task.
