Total budget for project: 90.000 USD

I/

PROJECT INTRODUCTION
This is the project of improvement and renovation the Network system

(LAN/WAN), Server, Email of Thien Long Stationery Group. As establishment history,
from one small manufacturing company, nowadays, Thien Long develops strongly to
Group with larger scale from day to day. The existing network system, server and email
could not adapt to the increasing demand of development for both current and future
situation. Therefore, Thien Long Group has decided to create the Project of Improvement
and Renovation the Network system (LAN/WAN), Server and Email.
II/

OVERVIEW AND CURRENT STATUS OF THE NETWORK SYSTEM
1/ The Local- Area Network (LAN)
As existing infrastructure, the computer internal cabling network has been
built and used for a quite long time. In production process, arising from the demand
of developing the company in market, human resources as well as other equipment
serving for working as computer, this network is essential to be broadened and

expanded adapting need for each specific period of time. Gradually, the system is
changing to be different compared to the initial structure as well as the technical and
aesthetic features.

The current cabling system is rather complicated because it was not invested
synchronically and unifyingly. Since system being broadened temporarily with
issue-immediate-confronting idea, part of it was laid floating on the floor, worming
in the walls, another part was fixed by temporary string knots without protection
tube or by sticking-plaster (arising from the demand of working desk location
changing or adding more working plots). The existing cabling system is using
diversified kinds of cables with different quality standards (UTP CAT5) that leads
to the slow connected capability as multi-layer classification (the number of users is
increased, so system is broadened by add more switches and used any node to
uplink backward the previous switch). Internet connecting equipment (Hub,
Switch…) is not synchronized and could not be protected in good and safe
environment (protection cabinets, thermal dispersion…).
2/ Wide- Area Network (WAN):
Previously, due to the need of development was slow; there were only one
manufacturing factory and one office. However, these days, as the expansion and
demand of development be broadened, more and more factories, offices, stores,
agencies… are opened in different places across the country. From that, the demand
of connecting all those places appears. With the old system, it could not adapt the
increasing demand; therefore, it is necessary to build the wide-area network.
3/ Server system
Server system equipped before is becoming old with low configuration and
incapacity. Thus, the system could not meet the demand of improvement of Thien
Long Group.
4/ Email system

The old email system leading to common issues of email unable to be
received, email losing; spam mail often received, etc… moreover, the development
in number of employees, all of them making the email system could not adapt the
workload.
III/

THE IMPORTANCE OF NETWORK SYSTEM RENOVATION
As analyzed above, the network, server and email renovation has significant
important role to business of Thien Long Group. In case not renovating and improving,

Thien Long Group has no chance to develop not only in current situation but also in
future.
IV/

OBJECTIVE, SCALE OF RENOVATING INVESTMENT

With the rise of information technology today, as well as the application of
informatics technology for work, business, and production, the execution of improvement
and renovation the current system is absolutely matched with increasing demand is
inevitable. It has to make sure the system work smoothly with security, data security and
good processing speed.
The renovation needs to be taken simultaneously and uniformly in large scale for
the purpose of synchronizing technical standard of cabling system, starting-terminal
equipment, server and email. During the work of new system, it is regulated that the
construction has no effects on current operation of existing system (the existing system
will be removed right after the new system is finished)

IDENTIFY & DESCRIBE THE ROLE OF KEY HUMAN RESOURCES OF
PROJECT AND CONCERNED PARTIES
1. In term of Thien Long Group
a. Project manager: IT department manager
- is the person who has the power, responsibility, jurisdiction and liability to
explain the final result of the entire project.
- is the person who takes responsibility of network model specialty and network
equipment needed to purchase
- is the person who allocates works for colleagues within project, prepares work
execution plan together with the starting and ending date of project.
- is the person who prepares the budget plan for the whole project.
- is the person who makes decisions, plans, organizes, leads, controls,
communicates and builds supportive environment for project.
b. Employee and co-workers supporting project
- Number of employees from IT department:

Take in charge and has authorities of part of assigned work within project
- Purchasing department
Take in charge and have responsibilities of buying equipment and materials
that are right categories and with the best quality.
- Accounting department
Take in charge and have responsibilities of paying sufficiently and timely
- Human resources & Administration department
Attendance checking, payroll making and other benefits for employees
taking part in the project
- Electricity technical department
Taking in charge and have responsibilities of designing and executing the
work of electric wire system and power sources for project.

- Security department
Taking in charge and have responsibilities of supervising and controlling
the materials in or out the company and the appearance of projecting people
within the company’s area
2. In term of the party who executes the work
After the tender, HiPT Informatics Company is chosen as the work executing
party for project.
HiPT Company takes responsibilities of executing the work with proper
techniques and expertise as well as following the working schedule as contract signed
with Thien Long group

PROJECT EXECUTION SCHEDULE

PROJECT CONTROLLING AND SUPERVISING

If meeting difficulties during the executing period, project team will meet

For every 30 days, meeting for consideration and assessment of project is

When each items of LAN, WAN, SERVER, EMAIL is done, it will be
tested, played trial as well as assessed the operating level and only is
accepted if everything goes smoothly. On the contrary, it will be repaired
until the quality and operation are deemed to be well.

When the checking results of all items are well-operated, items will be
taken over for acceptance

CONCLUSION
With the nowadays trend of development, Informatics is the significant breakingthrough of human headway. If there is not informatics, for sure, the development of
society is not reached the high level as these days.
Informatics in general and Network cable in particular, together, support greatly
for the development of Companies, among them is Thien Long Stationery Group. As
realizing the importance of this trend, Board of Directors of Thien Long Group has no
ponderation of investing in the renovation and improvement Local Area Network (LAN),
Wide Area Network (WAN), Server, Email, etc…
This project was very successful with right schedule as well as quality. It also
contributes in great ratio to the development as well as brings the benefits for Thien Long
Group.
