1.DANH,TÍNH TỪ.
*Đánh vào trọng âm đầu.
Eg:
‘sorrow(n):nỗi buồn
‘mutual(a):lẫn nhau


trường hợp bất quy tắc:

po’lite(a/n):cảnh sát
ma’chine(n):máy móc
2.ĐỌNG,TRẠNG TỪ.
*Đánh vào trọng âm thứ 2.
Eg:
at’tend(v):tham gia
de’pend(v):tùy theo
en’joy(v):thưởng thức
‘promise(v/n)


trường hợp bất quy tắc:

-ow:‘follow(v):


-er:’enter(v)
-en:’happen(v) xảy ra
