The department staff (5 Doctors of Science in Geology and Mineralogy, 2 associate professors, a senior

Bachelors are trained in the following specialties: “Petroleum business” and
“Geology” with concentration in “Prospecting for high-viscosity oil and natural bitumen” in
the following areas:

Extraction of high-viscosity oil and natural bitumen and their processing into
synthetic oil, production of petrochemical products and bitumen materials;

GEOLOGICAL MUSEUM

Geology museum named after A.Shtukenberg at Kazan Federal
University is one of the oldest and profuse natural science
museums in Russia.

The present collection fund at the museum (400,000 items)
includes the units of mineralogy, crystallography, paleontology,
historic geology, fauna of the Ice Age, oil geology, geodynamic
processes and human evolution.
