2. Phủ định

S + is/am/are + not

Ex: She isn’t a student.

3. Nghi vấn

Ex: Is she a student ? – Yes, she is / No, she isn’t

o Diễn tả một thói quen
Ex: He gets up at six every morning
My mother usually goes to work by motorbike.
The news usually starts at 6.00 every evening
o Diễn tả một sự thật hiển nhiên, một chân lý
Ex: The sun rises in the East and sets in the West.
The Earth goes around the Sun.
We have two children.
Water freezes at 0° C
o Diễn tả một sự việc sẽ xảy ra theo lịch trình
Ex: The train leaves at 5 pm today.
The flight starts at 9 am tomorrow.
Christmas Day falls on a Monday this year.
o Diễn tả một suy nghĩ, cảm giác
Ex: I think that your mother is a good person.
She feels very tired now.
They don't agree with us.

1. Các trạng từ dùng trong thời HTT:
- Always, usually, often, not often, sometimes…
- Everyday, every week/month/year..., on Mondays, Tuesdays, …..
- Once/twice / three times... a week/month/year ...;
- Every two weeks, every three months (a quarter)
- Whenever, every time, every now and then, every now and again, every so often
2. Cách thêm “S” và “ES”

Khi chủ từ là He/She/It/N(số ít) ta phải thêm S/ES vào động từ
o Bình thường thêm “S” vào động từ
o Thêm “ES” khi động từ tận cùng là: S, X, Z, SH, CH, O và Y (khi trước nó là phụ
âm)

3. Cách phát âm các động từ khi thêm S/ES
 Phát âm là /s/ khi từ tận cùng là: K, P, T, F, GH, TH

Ex: Develops, Meets, Books, Laughs…
 Phát âm là /ɪz/ khi từ tận cùng là: S, X, Z, CH, SH, CE, GE

Ex: Kisses, Dances, Boxes, Roses, Dishes, Watches, Changes…
 Phát âm là /z/ với các trường hợp còn lại

Ex: Birds, Lives, Rooms, Cars…
