The line graph illustrates the demand for electricity in England during typical days in winter
and summer while the pie chart describes the purpose of its usage in an average home
In general, winter is always higher than summer in the amount of consumption. For instance,
in winter, the number of units fluctuates considerably between about 30 and 40 thousand for
the first nine hours, before a dramatic climb to a peak of approximately 45 thousand at 22
hour.
By comparison, there is a gradual decline from 18 to 12 thousand units for the first nine
hours, followed by an insignificant fluctuation between 12 and 20 thousand during final
hours. Strikingly, only in the last two hours do both seasons witness a decrease in the number
of units.
As can be seen from the pie chart, heating reveals the highest percentage of consumption with
around 50%, but other purposes show quite equal figures of about 15%.
In brief, because most electricity is used for heating, winter always outnumbers summer in

the amount of consumption.

The table illustrates the number of cars per hour using three roads outside the city during
working hours from 1993 to 2002 in three main roads. In general, Long Lane was higher
than other two roads in the number of cars in most years surveyed.
For instance, there was a rapid increase from 82 to a peak of 915 cars for the first six years,
before a plunge to about 200 cars during final years in Haper Lane. By comparison, Great
York Way experienced ups and downs between 600 and 700 cars for the first six years,
followed by a considerable rise to the highest point of above 900 cars in 1999 and a quite
stable trend in the last three years.

PROCESS

The diagram describes the lifecycle of silk-worm and stages in the creation of silk-cloth.
In general, the first natural process undergoes a series of steps with the support of mulberry
leaves. For instance, a moth gives birth to several eggs which develop into silkworm larvae
after ten days. Then, these silkworm larvae, after eating mulberry leaves, become those with
silk-thread covering their bodies with four to six weeks. Subsequently, the period from 3 to
8 days witnesses their transformation into cocoons before they come back to the form of
moths sixteen days later.
As can be seen from the second diagram, no sooner are some cocoons selected than they
are boiled and unwound into those three to nine hundred meter threads. Next, producers
twist, dye and finally weave them. Another way is that these threads are twisted and directly
dyed. Strikingly, thanks to the application of dye is silk-cloth colored to meet the demand

of users.
