ARTICLE – MẠO TỪ (A/ AN/ THE)

1. Dùng “an” với:
Quán từ an được dùng trước từ bắt đầu bằng nguyên âm (trong cách phát âm, chứ không phải trong cách
viết). Bao gồm:
· Các từ bắt đầu bằng các nguyên âm a, e, i, o: an aircraft, an empty glass, an object
· Một số từ bắt đầu bằng u, y: an uncle, an umbrella
· Một số từ bắt đầu bằng h câm: haft an hour
2 Dùng “a” với:
Dùng a trước các từ bắt đầu bằng một phụ âm. Chúng bao gồm các chữ cái còn lại và một số trường hợp
bắt đầu bằng u, y, h.
VD: a house, a university, a home party, a heavy load, a uniform, a union, a year income,...
· Dùng trong các thành ngữ chỉ số lượng nhất định như: a lot of/ a couple/ a dozen.

· Dùng trước "half" (một nửa) khi nó theo sau một đơn vị nguyên vẹn: a kilo and a half
· Dùng trong các thành ngữ chỉ giá cả, tốc độ, tỉ lệ: $5 a kilo, 60 kms an hour, 4 times a day.
3. Cách dùng mạo từ xác định "The"
- Dùng the trước một danh từ đã được xác định cụ thể về mặt tính chất, đặc điểm, vị trí hoặc đã được đề
cập đến trước đó, hoặc những khái niệm phổ thông, ai cũng biết.

The boy in the corner is my friend. (Cả người nói và người nghe đều biết đó là cậu bé nào)
The earth is round. (Chỉ có một trái đất, ai cũng biết)
Sau đây là một số trường hợp thông dụng dùng The theo quy tắc trên:
· The + danh từ + giới từ + danh từ: The girl in blue
· Dùng trước những tính từ so sánh bậc nhất hoặc only: The only way, the best day.
· Dùng cho những khoảng thời gian xác định (thập niên): In the 1990s
· The + danh từ + đại từ quan hệ + mệnh đề phụ: The man to whom you have just spoken is the
chairman.
· Dùng trước một danh từ số ít để chỉ một nhóm, một hạng người nhất định trong xã hội: The small
shopkeeper: Giới chủ tiệm nhỏ.
· The + adj: Tượng trưng cho một nhóm người, chúng không bao giờ được phép ở số nhiều nhưng được
xem là các danh từ số nhiều. Do vậy động từ và đại từ đi cùng với chúng phải ở ngôi thứ 3 số nhiều: The
old = The old people;
The old are often very hard in their moving
4. Exerciser:

TENSES – CHIA THÌ

1. The present simple tense – (Thì hiện tại đơn)
(be)
S + is /am /are (not)
(V thường) S + V1 / V- s / V-es / has (don’t Vo/ doesn’t + Vo)
Dấu hiệu: always / usually / often / sometimes / everyday
Dien ta su that hien hien : the Earth, the moon, Viet Nam...
2. Present Progressive (thời hiện tại tiếp diễn)
S + is/am/are + V-ing
Dau hieu: now, at the moment, at present, ..sau cac dong tu: Look! Listen! Be quite! …
We are playing football at the moment.
Be quiet! The baby is sleeping
Chú ý:
 Động từ tận cùng là “e” bỏ “e” thêm “ing”

 Động từ có một nguyên âm tận cùng là phụ âm đơn, thì gấp đôi phụ âm trước khi thêm “ing”.

3. The past simple tense (Thì quá khứ đơn)
(be) S + was / were

Dấu hiệu: yesterday, last week, last Sunday, ago, in 2007.....
Bob bought a new bicyle yesterday.
Maria didn’t do her homework last night.
4. The future simple tense: (Thì Tương lai đơn)
S + will + V0
Dấu hiệu: Tomorrow, next week, next Sunday, I promise..........
I will be 20 next Sunday.
I promise I will study harder.
5. The past progressive tense (thì quá khứ tiếp diễn)
S +was /were + V-ing
Dấu hiệu: At this time yesterday, at this time last week, at 8.00 last night

6 .The present perfect tense (thì hiện tại hoàn thành)
S+ have/ has + p.p (V-ed /V 3)
Dấu hiệu: just, already, ever, since, for, yet, three times, four times…
George has seen this movie three times.
John has lived in that house since 1984.
SINCE và FOR:
FOR + khoảng thời gian: for three days, for ten minutes, for twenty years...
SINCE + thời điểm bắt đầu: since 1982, since January,...
7. Động Từ + Vo / To Vo / V-ing:
■ S + can/could/may/should/will/shall/ don’t/ doesn’t + Vo
He should do his homework.

He can speak English
■ S + V* + To Vo
V* = want (muốn) decide (quyết định)
hope (hi vọng) plan (dự định)…
I want to become a teacher.
He planed to move to England.
■ S + V** + V-ing
V** = enjoy (thích) suggest (đề nghị) love, like (yêu thích)
mind (phiền)
= start, begin (bắt đầu)
look forward to
dislike, hate (ghét)
Sau các giới từ :At / on / in / up / of / off / from / to / with / without / about, by + V-ing
I enjoy listening to music.
She suggested playing soccer.

IV. THE PASSIVE – CÂU BỊ ĐỘNG
1. The passive voice
Áp dụng công thức sau:
Các bước chuyển câu bị động:
B1: Xác định S (dầu câu); V(sau S); O (tân ngữ đứng sau V)
B2: Chuyển S thành by O, chuyển O thành S.
B3: Chuyển V thành V3/ed.
B4: Đặt (be) trước V3/ed

B5: Chia (be):
+ Hiện tại: (Be)  is, am, are
+ Quá khứ: (Be)  was/ were
+ Hiện tại hoàn thành: (be)  have/ has + been

+ Tương lai: (Be)  will be
+ Động từ khiếm khuyết (can/ could/ may/ might/ used to/ had to..)
Ta có công thức: can/ could/ may/ might/ used to/ had to.. + be + V3/ed
*Chú ý: Thời gian đứng sau (By + O); nơi chốn đứng trước (By + O)
Vậy công thức bị động của các thì như sau:
1.Với thì hiện tại đơn :
S + am/is/are + V3/ed +.....
by + O
Ex. I / buy/ a new house/ today.  A new house is bought today.
2.Với thì quá khứ đơn :
S + was/were + V3/ed +.....
by +O
Ex. Lan / bought/ a new dress / yesterday.  A new dress was bought yesterday by Lan.
3. Với thì hiện tại hoàn thành : S + has/have + been + V3/ed +...........by + O
Ex. They / have sold/ clothes / since 1990.  Clothes have been sold since 1990.
4. Với thì tương lai đơn :
S + wil + be + V3/ed +...........by + O
Ex. Nam / will buy/ a new house / tomorrow.  A new house will be bought by Nam tomorrow..
5.Với động từ khiếm khuyết (Model Verbs):can/could/should/may/might/have to/has to/had to/used
to/ought to/must/ be going to...+ Vo
Chủ động: S + Khiếm khuyết + Vo + O +....
Bị động: S + Khiếm khuyết + be + V3/ed +... + by O
Ex. Lan/ can solve/ this problem.  This problem can be solved by Lan.

REPORTED SPEECH – CÂU TƯỜNG THUẬT

Câu trực tiếp có dạng:


S + said to/ told + O, “S + V….”

* Nguyên tắc chung khi chuyển sang câu tường thuật:
- Phá bỏ ngoặc kép, chuyển đổi toàn bộ các đại từ nhân xưng , tân ngữ, tính từ sở hửu trong MĐ
chính theo bảng đại từ và câu thần chú sau:
Ngôi I theo chủ về nhà.
(chủ ngữ của MĐ tường thuật)
Ngôi II theo túc, Ngôi III nằm lì.
(túc từ của MĐ tường thuật)
- Lùi động từ ở MĐ chính xuống 1 cấp so với ở mức ban đầu (lùi thì) theo bảng lùi động từ .
- Chuyển đổi tất cả các từ chỉ thị, phó từ chỉ thời gian theo bảng chuyển từ nơi chốn và thời
gian .

**Chú ý: Nếu động từ là “say” hoặc “says” thì không lùi thì
Ex: She says “ I am a student”  She says she is a student.
They say” We love candy”  They say they love candy.
* Có 4 loại câu trực tiếp nên có 4 loại câu tường thuật:
1. Với câu trực tiếp là câu phát biểu:
Câu phát biểu có dạng:
S + said + (to + O) (that), “S + V…..”
Áp dụng các nguyên tắc nêu trên và theo công thức sau: S + said + (to + O) (that) S + V(lùi thì)...
Ex1. She said, “I am a student”.  She said (that) she was a student.
Ex2:
Lan said to me, “I(ngôi I) will see you( ngôi II) tomorrow”

 Lan said to me (that) she would see me the day after.
2. Với câu Yes/No Question:
Câu hỏi Yes-No có dạng: S + said (to + O)/ Asked O, “Can/ Could/ May/ Will ….+ S + Vo….?”
“Do/Does/Did + S + Vo…?”
“Is/ Am/ Are + S …….?”
Áp dụng các nguyên tắc nêu trên và theo công thức sau: S +asked + (O) + if/whether S + V(lùi thì)
Ex1. “Can you(II) speak English fluently?” She asked me if I could speak English fluently.
Ex2. “Are you good at English?”  Lan asked me if/whether I was good at English.
Chú ý: chữ do/does/did chúng ta bỏ; chữ can/could/is/am…. Chúng ta giữ lại và lùi thì
3. Với câu hỏi Wh – Questions :
Câu hỏi Yes-No có dạng:
S + said (to + O)/ asked O, “What/Where/Why/How/Who/When/Which + V* + S + V
V* : có thể là: is/ am/ are/ was/ were
do/ does/ did
have/ has
Áp dụng các nguyên tắc nêu trên và theo công thức sau: S + asked + O + Wh- + S + V(lùi một thì)
Chú ý:
+ nếu V* là do/ does/ did thì bỏ V*, ta lấy V lùi thì
+ Nếu V* là các từ còn lại thì đem V* ra sau chủ ngữ.
Ex. “Where do you live?” She said to me.
 She asked me where I lived.
Ex: She asked me, “who are you?”  She asked me who I was.
Ex: Lan said to me, “Where does he come from”  Lan said to me where he came from.
4.Với câu mệnh lệnh, cầu khiến :
Câu mệnh lệnh có dạng:
S + said (to O), “Vo……..”
S + said (to O), “Please Vo……..”
S + said (to O), “Don’t Vo……..”
Áp dụng các nguyên tắc nêu trên và theo công thức sau:
S + asked/told + O + (not) + to +V(inf)...

Ex. “Don’t make noise here”,Lan said to Hoa. 
Lan asked Hoa not to make noise there.

Dạng 1: Tìm 4 hoặc 5 lỗi trong đoạn văn và sửa lỗi.
Dạng 2: Tìm lỗi trong từng câu (trắc nghiệm A, B, C, D), và sửa lỗi.
Bài tập nhận lỗi sai thường sai vào những phần sau:
- Động từ không phù hợp với chủ ngữ (ít, nhiều)
- Động từ phía sau nên là V-ing hoặc Vo, To Vo
- Trạng từ đổi thành tính từ và ngược lại. (từ loại)
- Phần đuôi của câu hỏi đuôi sai.
- Mạo từ sai (a/an/the) a interesting book
- Đại từ quan hệ sai người, vật: who/which/whom/that/whose
- Động từ sai công thức theo các thì.
Cách làm:
1. Đọc câu văn, xác định các điểm ngữ pháp.
