1. Form
a. Positive.
S + V (s)
Add “es” after the verbs which end in (s, ch,
sh, o, z, x)
A consonant + y: Y – ies
Try- tries, cry- cries
2. Use.
a. Natural principles.
The sun rises in the East.
b. Repeated actions & habits
Adverbs of frequency
Always, usually, often, sometimes, never….
Once a week, twice a week, three times a
month, every three days, on Sundays,
everyday.
b. Negative.
S + don’t (doesn’t) + V (inf)
c. Interrogative
Do /does
+ S + V (inf)?
Yes, S + do/ does
No, S + don’t/ doesn’t
c. Hobbies
Like, love, hate, enjoy, prefer…..
E.g. I dislike playing computer games.
d. Express timetables and schedules.
What time does the train leave tomorrow?
I have English lessons on Monday and
Wednesday evenings.
