means it comes from people. Firstly there is raw sewage which is pumped directly into the sea.
Many countries both developed and developing are guilty of doing this.

Secondly, ships drop about six million tons of garbage into the sea each year.
Thirdly, there are oil spills from ships. A ship has an accident and oil leaks from the vessel. This
not only polluted the water but it also kill marine life.
Next, there are waste materials from factories without proper regulations, factory owners let the

Are you looking for a cheap, clean, effective source of power that doesn’t cause pollution or waste
natural resources? Look no further than solar energy from our sun. At present, most of our electricity
comes from the use of coal, gas, oil, or nuclear power. This power could be provided by the sun. One
percent of the solar energy that reaches the Earth is enough to provide power for the total population.
Many countries are already using solar energy. Solar panels are placed on the roof of a house and the
Sun’s energy is used to heat water. The energy can be stored for a number of days, so on cloudy days
you can use solar energy too. Sweden has an advanced solar energy program. There, all buildings will
be heated by solar energy and cars will use solar power instead of gas by the year 2015.

A few years ago a shortage of natural gas drove prices sky high. Likewise, gasoline process rose when
demands exceeded supplies. A glut in the oil market drove prices back down. The law of supply and

Long ago, a lot of people thought the moon was a god. Other people thought it was just a light in the
sky. And others thought it was a big ball of cheese. The telescopes were made. And men saw that the
moon was really another world. They wondered what it was like. They dreamed of going there.
On July 20, 1969, that dream came true. Tow American men landed on the moon. Their names were Neil
Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin. The first thing the men found was that the moon is covered with dust. The
dust is so thick that the men left footprints where they walked. Those were the first marks a living thing
had ever made on the moon. And they could stay there for years and years. There is no wind or rain to
wipe them off.
The two men walked on the moon for hours. They picked up rocks to bring back earth for study. They
dug up dirt to bring back. They set up machines to find out things people wanted to know. Then they
climbed back into their moon landing craft.
Next day the landing craft roared as the two men took off from the moon. They joined Michael Collins in
