1.The opening
1.1.The reason for choosing :
In fact in today's schools, integrated instruction in English is of little interest,
most teachers are afraid to connect,integrate with relevant content from previous
lessons or lessons. In the face of this situation,I have researched,researched and
developed the experience initiative "Use the knowledge of music,art,literature ,
physical education and English to teach the 58th ,59th period - unit 9: part B:(1>7) english 6 at hoang anh junior high school."
1.2: The aim:
Encourage students to use the combined knowledge of various subjects to solve
practical situations; Enhance the ability to use synthetic,self-study,self-study of
students.
Encourage teachers to create,teach by topic,topics with content related to many
subjects and attached to reality.
1.3. The research subjects

2.The body:
2.1.The theory
Teaching the use of interdisciplinary knowledge will make the lesson become
more lively,as not only the teacher is the speaker,but the student also participates
in the process of receiving knowledge,thus promoting positive student' s. Give
students a habit of thinking, arguing when considering a matter of having to put
them in a frame of reference that allows them to perceive the problem
thoroughly.
2.2. The reality

The current state of teaching subjects in general, English class 6 in particular,
although the concept of integrated teaching has been applied to teaching,but the
effect is not high.Teachers in schools do not really understand the meaning and
importance of interdisciplinary teaching.To improve the quality andeffectiveness
of teaching, I selected the topic" Use the knowledge of music, art ,literature ,
physical education and English to teach the 58th ,59th period - unit 9: part B:(1>7) english 6 at hoang anh junior high school."
2.3. The method integrates interdisciplinary knowledge in a specific lesson.
ENGLISH 6 LESSON PLAN
CONNECTING MUSIC, ART ,LITERATURE AND PHYSICAL
EDUCATION
UNIT 9 – THE BODY – PART B
I. Objectives:
By the end of the lesson, students can describe someone’s body, especially
someone’s face by using vocabulary and model sentences more naturally and
flexibly.

- Develop speaking, listening, reading and writing for students.
- Encourage students to connect other subjects such as music, art and physical
education to learn English more easily, better and more naturally.
II.Language content:
+ Vocab : parts of the face , color :black , white , gray , red , orange , yellow …

II. Preparations
• Teacher’s: PowerPoint lesson plan, CD, laptop, projector, speakers.
• Students’: pictures, notebook, textbook, drafts, crayons.
III. Procedure:
1. Organization:
- Class: 6:
- Total: 34 ss
2. Warm up : (5’)
- Listen to an English songs (Body parts song) while watching a video and
answer the question:
What can you see from the song?
How to keep our body healthy?

T plays the video. (Body parts song)
SS watch the video and answer teacher’s questions individually.
Answer key:
- I can see a boy and a girl singing about parts of the body.
- To keep our body healthy, we should do exercise regularly, have balance diet

and take care of our body parts.
T uses students’ answers to lead in new lesson.
* New lesson: (28’)
1. Listen and repeat
- Watch, listen and repeat the words relate to parts of someone’s face.

3. Dialogue build:
* Set the scene: “Peter and Paul are talking about his classmates, Mary and
Susan. What do they talk about Mary and Susan?
* Gap filling: Read the dialogue and fill in the gaps.
- Ss work in pairs (close pairs) to read and complete the dialogue between Peter
and Paul. (3’)

Peter: Do you know Susan and Mary, our new classmates?
Paul: Yes, I know Susan. She has an oval (1) face.
Peter: She has full (2) lips and long (3) hair.
Paul: Uh. What about Mary?
Peter: Her (4) face is round and her (5) hair is short.
Paul: What about her lips?
Peter: Her lips are (5) thin.
Paul: They are very lovely.
- Ss practice the dialogue aloud
(2 open pairs)
- T. gets feedback.
- T. uses the information in the dialogue to elicit the model sentence from

students.
4. Model sentences
E.g.: Mary has a round face.
Her face is round.
I have long hair.
Form: S + have/ has + (a/an) + Adj + N (body parts)
Use: to describe parts of someone’s face/body.
Another way:
Her face is oval.
My hair is long.
5. Practice
5.1. Look at the pictures in the textbook and describe them.

- Ss say aloud their descriptions while looking at the pictures on the screen.

- Teacher corrects and helps Ss to remember when they use a/an or don’t and
another way to talk about one’s face or appearance.
5.2. Draw a picture/portrait of your friend’s face while listening to a song, and
then present before the class, using imindmap.
Listen to music and draw a portrait of your friend's face, when the music is
over, you must complete the drawing and present the description to the class.
Requirements: Draw and note enough facial parts, show fluency, expressive,
use vocabulary, accurate sentence patterns.
- Ss work in groups of four students to draw the picture in a few minutes.
Through the lesson organized for students to present the product

- With an artistic background sketch your friend's portrait and describe it in

words.

Ss take notes and describe one of their group mates and others guess
who she/he is.

Students are skilled in writing descriptive text in English using descriptive

adjectives and nouns indicating facial parts.

- With literature knowledge, write a paragraph describing a loved one in
English, mostly using nouns for facial parts and descriptive adjectives.
- Requirements: Lay out the correct layout, authentic descriptions, use correct
vocabulary and sentence patterns.

- Act as Simon says, for examples:
Simon says: + Put your hand up

Singing and doing exercise (supporting exercise) to music.
Requirements: Make exact movements (eg, shouders: students touch hands),
decisively, and evenly.
With Music and Fitness knowledge, listening, singing and video-aided

3.Conclusion, Suggestion
- Conclusion:
Through the application of interdisciplinary teaching methods to a certain
subject, I found that students have developed positive, active, understandable
and interested in the subject. If the teaching hours of the subject he applied the
interdisciplinary approach, I believe that the lessons will no longer dry and will
create a passion for the disciples.
- Suggestion
* For the school:
- The technical means of teaching support such as projectors and computers
need to be used more widely.

- It is necessary to equip the department rooms so that the teacher can regularly
use the application in teaching.
* For the education department
- It is necessary to strengthen the seminars so that teachers have the opportunity
to learn and learn from experience.
