During Samhain, the ancient Celts thought ghosts
of the dead returned to Earth and caused chaos,
sickness and destroyed plants.

The Celts wore masks and danced to scare the
ghosts away.
•
In North America, Halloween is started in the

century. It is a time of celebration &
superstition.
