Question I: Read the following passage and do these exercises below (2.5 pts).

Vietnam’s New Year is celebrated according to the lunar calendar. It is
offically as Tet Nguyen Dan, or Tet. It begins between January twenty first and
February nineteen. The exact date changes from year to year. Vietnamese people
usually tidy their houses, cook special food, clean and make offerings on the family
altars for the holiday several weeks beforehand. On the New year’s Eve, people sit up
to midnight to see the New Year in, then they put on new clothes and give one
another the greetings of the season. Tet lasts ten days. The first three days are the
most important. Vietnamese people believe that how people act during those days
will influence the whole year. As a result, they make every effort to advoid
arguments and smile as much as possible.

A. LISTENING (2.0 PTS)

Giáo viên đọc cho học sinh nghe (2 lần) và cho học sinh làm bài vào đề
kiểm tra, sau đó chép lại phần bài làm này vào giấy kiểm tra.
Nếu nhà trường không đủ giáo viên Tiếng Anh thì phân công giáo viên đi
lần lượt các phòng để đọc.
Chú ý:
- Trước khi đọc giáo viên dành từ 1 đến 2 phút cho học sinh chuẩn bị.
- Trong khi đọc giáo viên cần đọc với tốc độ bình thường, không đọc quá
nhanh hoặc quá chậm.

Taj Mahal is the most famous of all India’s ancient buildings and a
prime monument of Mahal Art. It was built on the Yamuna river in 1630. It
took 22 years to construct; 20.000 men were said to have been involved in
the project. The tomb is over 73 meters high. It is decorated with Koranic
inscriptions and carved reliefts.
