If you want to make your school green, think beyond your classrooms. Here are some suggestions that
are all easy and simple to follow, and can make a big difference in reducing your carbon footprint and
creating a sustainable community.

One of the places where both teachers and students often spend some of their time is the library. An
eco-friendly reading space is likely to create a favourable impression on library users, and bring some
significant educational benefits. For example, you can install energy-saving products like fans instead of
air-conditioners which consume a lot of energy. You can also use biodegradable dust cloths or old
T-shirts to clean the environment. In addition, to raise public awareness, allocate a clearly visible space
on the noticeboard for everyday green tips like ‘Let others reuse your book’.
Sporty students may prefer to spend more time in the swimming pool than in the library.
Therefore, keeping this place safe and green v also help to raise their environmental awarem Remember
that chlorinated pool water may cause red eyes and itchy skin to some people if they spend much time in
the pool. An ideal alternative would be a salt-water pool, which can be naturally clean and economical.

As the world population increases, the demand of using vehicles is also growing day by day. Along with
other modern means of transportation, electric vehicles have been widely introduced and used. However,

just like other new inventions, this modern kind of transportation has both advantages and
disadvantages.
Electric vehicles can save the environment. As they do not use fossil fuels, they do not emit C02 and
other pollutants. This reduces air pollution. Besides, they are quite quiet and smooth, with less vibration
than other vehicles, so they help lower noise pollution and make passengers feel more comfortable.
Especially, the maintenance cost of electric vehicles is lower than that of diesel ones.
Despite all of the above strengths, the initial set-up cost of an electric transport system is high, and

electric vehicles are quite costly with expensive batteries. Moreover, it takes hours to recharge an
electric car, and sometimes charging stations are not available, which delays passengers' travel. As a
result, not everyone can afford an electric vehicle and willingly to own it.
In conclusion, at this very first stage, electric transportation has both positive and negative points.
Hopefully, in the near future, manufacturers will improve electric vehicles to make them the most
comfortable, affordable, and eco-friendly that may help people both travel with no problem and save the
environment effectively.
