UNIT 16: LET’S GO TO THE BOOKSHOP.
LESSON 1 (Part 1-2)
I.Aims: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
- Ss will be able to make and respond to suggestions to go somewhere.
(Strong Ss can speak fluently, pronounce and remember the words well.
Weak Ss can speak the dialogue and model sentences).
-Ss will be able to develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening
skills.
II.Languages focus:
Vocabulary: bookshop, bakery, pharmacy, sweet shop, supermarket, buy,
bread, medicine, chocolate.
Sentence patterns: Let’s go to the ...
Great idea!/Sorry, I’m busy.
III. Teaching aids: Text book, Picture, cassette, workbook ……
IV. Procedure:
A. Warm up (5ms)
- Greeting.
- Set the scene and ask some questions to elicit the content of the new
lesson.
B. New lesson
1. Look, listen and repeat (8ms)
- Ask Ss to open the Student’s Book on Page 40 and look at the


pictures in part 1.
- Ask some eliciting questions to help Ss guess what they will learn in the
dialogue.


- Ask Ss to look at the dialogue in the Student Book, listen to the
recording of the dialogues.
- Play the recording and ask Ss to listen to the tape twice.
- Ask Ss to listen and repeat in chorus three times.
- Divide the class into 2 groups, one group repeats Phong’s part and
another one repeats Phong’s mother’s part. Then change the roles.
- Listen and give feedback.
2. Point and say. (22ms)
- Have Ss look at the pictures in part 2 on page 40.
- Present the new words by using different techniques
+ bookshop: cửa hàng sách
+ bread: bánh mì
+ pharmacy: hiệu thuốc
+ medicine: thuốc
+ supermarket: siêu thị
+ sweet shop:cửa hàng kẹo
+ chocolate: sô cô la
+ bakery: cửa hàng bánh
+ buy: mua
- After eliciting each word, T models 3 times and gets Ss to do choral.
Then, T calls Ss to repeat individually.
- Ask Ss to copy down those words in their notebooks
- Present the way to make and respond to suggestions to go somewhere
Let’s go to the ... I want to buy...
Great idea! / Sorry, I’m busy.

- Do the task with one student as an example.
E.g: Teacher: Let’s go to the bookshop. I want to buy some notebooks.
Hoa: Great idea!
- Ask Ss to work in pairs to make and respond to suggestions to
go somewhere by pointing the given pictures. Then Ask Ss to change the
roles.
- Select some pairs of Ss to demonstrate the task in front of the class.
- Listen and give feedback.
C. Consolidation (5ms)
- Do the exercise in the workbook.

UNIT 16: LET’S GO TO THE BOOKSHOP.
LESSON 1 (Part 3-4-5)
I.Aims: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
- Ss will be able to make and respond to suggestions to go somewhere
- Ss will be able to listen for specific information.
-Ss will be able to develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening
skills.
II.Languages focus:
Sentence patterns: Let’s go to the ....
Great idea! / Sorry, I’m busy.
IV. Procedure:
A. Warm up (5ms)
- Greeting.
- Ask Ss to review the way to make and respondi to suggestions to go

somewhere.
B. New lesson
3. Listen and tick. (10ms)
- Ask Ss to open their books and look at part 3 on Page 41.
- Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them distinguish the places in
the pictures in this task.
- Explain the way to do the task.
- Play the tape three times and let Ss do the task.
- Call on some Ss to give their answers.
- Play the tape the last time to check with the whole class.
4. Look and write. (10ms)
- Have Ss look at part 4 on page 41.
- Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them review the way to make
and respond to suggestions to go somewhere.
- Explain the way to do the task.
- Let Ss do the task.
- Call on some Ss to give their answers.
- Check the answers with the whole class and give feedback.
Key:
2. to the bakery/buy some bread
3. to sweet shop/buy some chocolate
4. to the pharmacy/buy some medicine
5. Let’s sing. (10ms)


- Have Ss look at the pictures in part 5 on page 41 and ask
some eliciting questions.
- Stick the large-sized sheet of paper with the song on the board and ask
Ss to look at it. (Show the song on the slide)
- Tell Ss that they are going to sing the song.

- Play the recording through for Ss to get familiarized with the
pronunciation, the stress, the rhythm and the tune of the song.
- Play the recording again, pausing after each line for Ss to repeat.
- Let Ss listen the recording and sing the whole song.
- Call on some ss to sing the song in front of the class.
C. Consolidation (5ms)
- Do the exercise in the workbook.

UNIT 16: LET’S GO TO THE BOOKSHOP.
LESSON 2(Part 1-2-3)
I.Aims: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
- Ss will be able to ask for and give reasons for going somewhere.
-Ss will be able to develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening
skills.
II.Languages focus:
Sentence patterns: Why do you want to go to the...?
Because I want to...
III. Teaching aids: Text book, Picture, cassette, workbook ……
IV. Procedure:
A. Warm up (5ms)
- Greeting.
- Ask Ss to play the game “Matching” to help them review the words they
have learnt.
(Matching the words with the pictures.)
B. New lesson
1. Look, listen and repeat. (7ms)
- Ask Ss to open the Student’s Book on Page 42 and look at the

pictures in part 1.


- Ask some eliciting questions to help Ss guess what they will learn in the
dialogue.
- Ask Ss to look at the dialogue in the Student Book, listen to the
recording of the dialogues.
- Play the recording and ask Ss to listen to the tape twice.
- Ask Ss to listen and repeat in chorus three times.

repeats Linda’s part and other one repeats Mai’s part. Then change the
roles.
- Listen and give feedback.

roles.

- Listen and give feedback.
3. Let’s talk. (10ms)
- Let Ss work in group of 4 to practice the way to to ask for
and give reasons for going somewhere.
- Call on some groups to perform in front of the class.
- Invite other groups to give feedback.


- Check and give feedback.
C. Consolidation (5ms)
- Do the exercise in the workbook.
