HOW MUCH IS THE T-SHIRT?

LESSON 1 (Part 3-4-5)
I.Aims: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
- Ss will be able to ask and answer questions about prices of clothes
(singular).
- Ss will be able to listen for specific information.
-Ss will be able to develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening
skills.
II.Languages focus:
Sentence patterns: How much is the ... ? It’s ...
III. Teaching aids: Text book, Picture, cassette, workbook ……
IV. Procedure:
A. Warm up (5ms)
- Greeting.
- Ask Ss to play the game "Lucky numbers" to help them review the way
to ask and answer the questions about prices of clothes (singular).
B. New lesson
3. Listen and tick. (10ms)
- Ask Ss to open their books and look at part 3 on Page 47.
- Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them distinguish the kinds of
clothes and prices in the pictures in this task.
- Explain the way to do the task.
- Play the tape three times and let Ss do the task.


- Call on some Ss to give their answers.
- Play the tape the last time to check with the whole class.
4. Look and write. (10ms)
- Have Ss look at part 4 on page 47.
- Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them review the way to write the
sentence about clothes and prices of them (singular).
- Explain the way to do the task.
- Let Ss do the task.
- Call on some Ss to give their answers.
- Check the answers with the whole class and give feedback.

- Have Ss look at the picture in part 5 on page 47 and ask

clothes (singular).
- Explain the way to play the game and let Ss play the game.

Lesson 2(Part 1-2-3)
I.Aims: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
- Ss will be able to ask and answer questions about prices of clothes
(plural).
-Ss will be able to develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening
skills.
II.Languages focus:
Vocabulary: trousers, jeans, shoes, sandals
Sentence patterns: How much are the...? They're...
III. Teaching aids: Text book, Picture, cassette, workbook ……
IV. Procedure:
A. Warm up (5ms)
- Greeting.
- Ask Ss to play the game “Guessing" to help them review the words
about clothes they have learnt.
B. New lesson
1. Look, listen and repeat. (7ms)


- Ask Ss to open the Student’s Book on Page 48 and look at the
pictures in part 1.
- Ask some eliciting questions to help Ss guess what they will learn in the
dialogue.
- Ask Ss to look at the dialogue in the Student Book, listen to the
recording of the dialogues.
- Play the recording and ask Ss to listen to the tape twice.

- Ask Ss to listen and repeat in chorus three times.
- Divide the class into 3 groups, one group repeats Mai’s part, one group
repeats Hoa’s part and the other repeats Sales assistant’s part. Then
change the roles.
- Listen and give feedback.
2. Point and say. (13ms)
- Have Ss look at the pictures in part 2 on page 48.
- Present the new words by using the pictures of clothes
+ jeans: quần bò
+ shoes: giày
+ trousers: quần dài
+ sandals: dép
- After eliciting each word, T models 3 times and gets Ss to do choral.
Then, T calls Ss to repeat individually.
- Ask Ss to copy down those words in their notebooks
- Present the way to ask and answer questions about prices of clothes
(plural).
How much are the...?
They're...
- Do the task with one student as an example.
E.g: Teacher: How much are the sandals, Hoa?
Hoa: They're fifty thousand dong.
- Ask Ss to work in pairs to practice asking and answering
questions about prices of clothes (plural) by pointing the given cues. Then
Ask Ss to change the roles.
- Select some pairs of Ss to demonstrate the task in front of the class.
- Listen and give feedback.
3. Let’s talk. (10ms)
- Let Ss work in group of 4 to practice the way to ask and
answer questions about prices of clothes (singular and plural).



- Call on some groups to perform in front of the class.
- Invite other groups to give feedback.
- Check and give feedback.
C. Consolidation (5ms)
- Do the exercise in the workbook.

- Ss will be able to listen for specific information to number the picture
about prices of food.
-Ss will be able to develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening
skills.
II.Languages focus:
Sentence patterns: How much is the...? It's...
How are the...? They're...
III. Teaching aids: Text book, Picture, cassette, workbook ……
IV. Procedure:
A. Warm up (5ms)
- Greeting.
- Ask Ss to play the game “What and Where” to help them review the
words about clothes.

B. New lesson
4. Listen and write the prices. (10ms)
- Ask Ss to open their books and look at the pictures on page
49.
- Help Ss to distinguish the clothes in the pictures and the way to say
prices of clothes.
- Explain the way to do this task. (They’re going to listen to the tape and
write the prices)
- Play the tape three times for Ss to listen and write.
- Ask Ss to compare their answer with their partners.
- Call on some Ss to give their answers.
- Play the tape the last time to check with the whole class.


5. Look and write. (10ms)
- Have Ss look at part 5 on page 49.
- Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them review the words about
clothes and the way to write about prices of clothes.
- Explain the way to do the task.
- Let Ss do the task.
- Call on some Ss to give their answers.
- Check the answers with the whole class and give feedback.
Key:

6. Let’s sing. (10ms)
- Have Ss look at the picture in part 6 on page 49 and ask
some eliciting questions.
- Stick the large-sized sheet of paper with the song on the board and ask

Ss to look at it. (Show the song on the slide)
- Tell Ss that they are going to sing the song.
- Play the recording through for Ss to get familiarized with the
pronunciation, the stress, the rhythm and the tune of the song.
- Play the recording again, pausing after each line for Ss to repeat.
- Let Ss listen the recording and sing the whole song.
- Call on some ss to sing the song in front of the class.
C. Consolidation (5ms)
- Do the exercise in the workbook.

- Ss will be able to know the way to stress the words.
-Ss will be able to develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening
skills.
II.Languages focus:
Vocabulary: sandals, trousers, jumper, jacket.


III. Teaching aids: Text book, Picture, cassette, workbook ……
IV. Procedure:
A. Warm up (5ms)
- Greeting.
- Let Ss play the game “Cross word” to help them review the words about
clothes.
B. New lesson

1. Listen and repeat. (10ms)
- Ask Ss to open the Student’s Book on Page 50 and look at the
given words.
- Tell them that they are going to listen to the tape and pay attention to the
way to stress the words.
- Stick the cards of the words on the board and ask Ss to look at the words
on them.
- Play the recording and ask Ss to listen and practice pronouncing the
given words with the stress marks.
- Play the recording for Ss to listen and repeat the words and sentences in
chorus three times.
- Call on some Ss to repeat the words and sentences in front of the class.
2. Look at the sentences and the stress marks. Then listen and say the
sentences aloud. (10ms)
- Have Ss look at the sentences in part 2 on page 50.
- Help Ss pronounce the given words with stress marks.
- Let Ss listen to the tape.
-Let Ss practice reading the given sentences.
- Call on some Ss to read aloud the sentences in front of the class.
- Check with the whole class and give feedback.
3. Let’s chant. (10 ms)
- Have Ss look at the picture in part 3 on page 50 and ask
some eliciting questions.
- Stick the large-sized sheet of paper with the chant on the board and ask
Ss to look at it.
- Tell Ss that they are going to chant.


- Play the recording through for Ss to get familiarized with the
pronunciation, the stress, the rhythm and the tune of the chant.

- Play the recording again, pausing after each line for Ss to repeat.
- Let Ss listen the recording and sing the whole chant.
- Call on some Ss to sing the chant in front of the class.
C. Consolidation (5ms)
- Do the exercise in the workbook.
