Media Access
All journalists seeking to attend the event will be required to 1) secure UN MALU media accreditation and
2) register for the event. All reporters will also be provided WEPs Annual Event badges to distinguish them as
media.

For those approved, UN Media Accreditation badges can be picked up, starting 5 March, at the Media
Accreditation Clearance Office in the UNITAR Building, 801 First Avenue (corner of 45th Street and First
Avenue), New York, NY 10017. Please note the office hours are 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. More information can be
found here: />5 MARCH: Journalists are invited to attend a series of short, interactive “WEPs conversations” at 3 West Club.
Please note UN Media Accreditation badges are not needed to attend this event as it is offsite from UNHQ.
6 MARCH: Unless otherwise noted, all sessions of the 6th Annual Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs)


Main Event on 6 March at UN Headquarters will be open to media.
Media Entrance at UN Headquarters
All media must enter the UN at the 47th Street and 1st Avenue gate. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR UN MEDIA
ACCREDITATION BADGE TO ENTER. WEPs staff will be on hand to escort participants and media to the
Trusteeship Council Chamber.
NOTE: PHOTOGRAPHERS AND BROADCAST MEDIA
• Trusteeship Council Chamber – Photographers and broadcast media must be stationed in the media
booth. Please arrive by 8:30 to receive an escort to access the media booth.
• Delegates Dining Room – Photographers and broadcast media will be in a designated area at the
center back of the room with a direct view to the stage, and are asked to remain stationary.
• A multi box will be available in both rooms on 6 March to access the live audio feed.
NOTE: JOURNALISTS
• Trusteeship Council Chamber – Reserved seating will be provided for journalists at the back of the
Trusteeship Council Chamber.
• Delegates Dining Room – A table will be reserved for journalists in the Delegates Dining Room.

Media Availability
6 March: A brief media availability with WEPs Leadership Awards winners will take place after the awards
ceremony, inside the Trusteeship Council Chamber (12:30-12:45).

Press Kit and Mobile Device Application
As a paper-smart event, all WEPs Event press kit materials, as well as the complete agenda, speakers and other
details on the event are available to registered journalists via a mobile device application. Select press kit
materials will also be available on our website at />Download the mobile application: You are strongly encouraged to download the mobile app prior to arrival at
the event. Please follow the three simple steps below to download the app to your mobile device:
1. Download the app
• Visit and select your platform (Apple, Android, BlackBerry)
• You will be taken to your platform's App Store to complete the download and install the app
Special Note to Apple Users: Due to recent updates to the Apple OS, a new version of the Global Compact app is
now available. All journalists who previously downloaded the app to their Apple device(s) during the Global
Compact Leaders Summit in September should delete the app on their device(s) and follow the instructions to
re-download the latest version.
2. Enter the Event Key
After opening the app, select Events and then Event Key
• Enter WEPsEvent and select Find
• Select Women’s Empowerment Principles event and press Download

• Once the download is complete, open the Women’s Empowerment Principles event and login with the
following credentials:
