Task 1: Read the two letters below and find the request in Nga’s letter
and the confirmation in Hoa’s letter

Nga’s letter

Dear Hoa,
My class is going to have a picnic at Ao Vua this
weekend. This is the first time I go for a picnic. Can
you go shopping with me to buy the things we need
for the trip? I will pick you up at 2:30 p.m.
Please let me know as soon as possible.

The request in Nga’s letter:

Hoa’s letter
Dear Nga,
I’m glad to hear that you are going to have your first

 Request: It is the letter that asks for information or help.
 Confirmation: It is the letter that responds to the request.

It confirms whether the help is provided or the information
available or not.
 How to write the confirmation letter
1. Greetings:
- Dear + First name,
2. Body:
- The introduction: expressing interest/ repeating the request
- The confirmation: agreeing to help/ confirming the request
- The suggestion: accepting the suggestion or giving the new one.
3. Closing.
- Love, / Yours,
4. Signature

 Useful Expression:
