HANOI IN MY HEART
Anyone who has ever been to Hanoi has their own impression about this lovely city.
People love its beauty, long history or elegant Hanoi people but few of them take notice
of its simple beauty which also makes it become really special. One of the simple and
special things is autumn in Hanoi.
Somebody said that Hanoi is like an attractive girl with the graceful clothes of autumn. If
autumn makes Hanoi more and more romantic, Hanoi makes its autumn more and more
marvelous.
In autumn, Hanoi is still dense and bustling, people are still busy and hurried but they
hardly realize that Hanoi is changing till one day they go out and feel fresh and fervent
smell in somewhere. Then suddenly something comes across their mind and they know it
is the smell of milk flowers and they wonder when the autumn came.
Many people wish to go for a walk on the streets that are full of the smell of milk flowers.
For many people, milk flowers are a symbol of Hanoi, but for Hanoians, they are also
accompanied with their lives and spirit. Milk flowers remind them about their innocent
childhood, memorable youth and life with full of us and downs. Actually, the name of
milk flowers has a great meaning which people often call respectably ‘motherhood’. Its
smell is strong but also as sweet as mother’s milk that grows up our childhood. The color
of milk flowers is also similar to the one of mother’s milk which always makes us feel so
safe and peaceful. Many people love milk flowers for this reason that is a part in their life
and a corner of their own world because people really find themselves when they find the
value of their life. Hanoians are often proud of that and they consider milk flowers as an
important part of Hanoi in autumn.
An afternoon in autumn, walking along western lake, we realize values that are much
more beautiful than ever. Hanoians used to believe that western lake is the eyes of Hanoi
and in autumn, the eyes are much more sparkling, they brighten hidden beauty of Hanoi
and wake up hardest spirit. Moreover, if we have a chance to wander a long sword lake,
we can enjoy much more than that. At the weekends or in the evenings, after hardworking days and leaving busy daily life behind, people in Hanoi come here to relax and
enjoy the special atmosphere of Hanoi. For most of Hanoians, Sword Lake is the heart of
Hanoi which always beats the beats of Hanoi.
Time still passes, Hanoi is changing more and more but from the bottom of Hanoians’

hearts, Sword Lake is still there to maintain characteristics of Hanoi. Then autumn comes
and brings most graceful things to cover up Hanoi especially its heart_ Sword Lake.
Hanoi is always bustling with vehicles, modern life and sometimes it makes people tired.
However, they still give it their great love and autumn is also a factor creating the love.
People never forget Hanoi even only one time coming here but they are also bored by a
unique and memorable thing which stays autumn in Hanoi.
