TOPPIC: CULTURE
1. What are some things that define a culture?
Well, in my opinion, there are 5 basic things that define as a
culture such as language, music, food, arts, history and people behaviour
and costumes.
2. Do you know much about your own culture? Give some specific
examples?
Sure. I know a lot about Vietnamese culture for examples:
+ Traditional costumes such as: ao dai ( traditional costumes for Northern
women in old day), ao ba ba (traditional costumes for Southern women in
old day), ao tu than.
+ Traditional music such as: southern folk music – it means Vong Co,
dramace – it means kich, tuong, pillow dance.
+ Traditional food such as: Vietnamese pancake- it means Xeo, Sticky rice
cake- it means Tet, Che, and different kinds of noodles – it means: bung, pho
,mi
+ Traditional festivals and holidays such as: Lunar new year, Hung King
Anniversary, Mid- Aution Festinal.
+ Traditional values are lotus, non la, dragon dance (mua lan)
3. In your country, what topics are rude to discuss? Why are they rude?
What do people enjoy talking about?
In Vietnam, there are some topic that are rude or impolite to
discuss such as:
+ Religion (ton giao)
+ Marital status of some one
+ Income ( thu nhap)
+ Death (chet)
+ Sexual matter (chu de sex)
Because most Vietnamese may feel uncomfor table shy or even
annoyed when sometime discuss about these rude topic.
They are like talking about: children, family, beautiful memory


(ki niem), job, shopping and fashion.
4. Would you ever consider marrying or dating someone from another
culture?
I don’t know for sure, but in my mind. I never don’t want to live
for away my family and I love my hometown.


5. What do you think is the most important when you visit another
country?
In my opinion, the most important thing when visit another
country is that:
+ We should learn about local language or speak English well to
communicate local people.
+ Study some cultures to avoid cultures shock.
+ Get some information about local weather.


TOPPIC: FASHION
1. About how much money do you spend on clothes a year? Are you a
shopaholic?
I don’t know exactly how much money I spend on clothes a year
but I go shopping one a month fore every time, I spend about 500.000
vietnam dong. I don’t think so shopaholic are individuals who can’t troll
their spending. To me, I always consider items carefully before I by on the
other hand, my spending limits.
2. Do you think that the clothes we wear reflect what is inside us?
I agree with this. Usually, everyone is judged by that they wear in
some cases one of the very first impressions everyone gets from other is
from what types of clothing and shoes they are wearing.
3. What do you think of people with tattoo? Do you have a tattoo?

These days, tattoos can be easily found on young people and even
celebrities.
Tattoos are good as long as they aren’t actually offensive and have good
location but sometime I feel scared when seeing a man with many tattoos.
4. When you get old do you think you will dress like your grandmother
or grandfather?
No, I don’t know for sure. There is no shame dressing like my
grandmother these days. If is right students with my age, my personality.
5. In your country do children have to wear school uniform? Do you
think wearing uniform is a good idea?
I think students should wear uniform at school because they
don’t need to spend a lot of time to choose clothes to go school every day.
So, they will focus more on their study.


TOPPIC: MONEY MATTERS
1. Are you saving money to buy something?
If so, what are you planning to buy?
How much will it cost?
How much longer will you need to save before you can buy it?
Yes, I am
I am planning to buy a mobile phone
It will cost about 5 millions dong
I will need to save about 1 year to have a phone
2. How much do you spend on food each week?
It is about 400,000 dong a weak. It is 50,000 dong per day for
food and drink.
3. If someone gave you a lot of money, what would you do with it?
My parents will buy gifts, picnic with my friend, put it in the bank
to get interest money to use in the future.

4. Do you ever give money to beggars on the street? Why or Why not?
Sometime, I gave money to beggars on the street if they are old
or disabled people it means they can’t hear, speak and see but now, I see
there are many beggars who are too lazy to word but they like spending
money.
5. When you buy something, do you “shop around” and go to many
stores to compare prices? What….for?
Certainly, I always shop around before buying something to find
a bargain and ask for a better price.
6. When you buy something, what is most important to you: price,
quality, fashion trend, status/ image? Why?
When I buy something, I think the most important is quality and
next is the price. The quality is the decisive factor but it is suitable with my
spending. The quality of good is linked to long- tesmuse, protect our health
and save money.


TOPPIC: TRAVELING
1. Could you live in another country for the rest of your life?
Sometime, I think about moving to another country. It would be
nice to get away from everything and try something new, however, I want to
live with my family and my retativer. I love my hometown and I don’t want
to live far away.
2. Do you have a driver’s license? Is it important for us?
Of course, I had my driver’s license when I was 18.
Get a driver’s license we have a free dorm to ride- it means we
can travel anywhere and we understand the traffic rules well.
3. What are some things that you always take with you on a trip?
Medicine to use when I’m sick, ID card to stay in hotel, Cell
phone to contact with my family, friends but the most important thing is

money and I always try to not take to much.
4. Would you prefer to stay at a hotel/ motel or camp while on vacation?
Why?
I prefer to stay in hotel. It is much sager and more comfortable. It
has many kinds of services: spa, laundry and bar.
5. Do you think it is a good idea to travel with friends or alone? How
about with you family? Give some specific reasons?
I think it is a good idea to travel with friends. It is cheaper because
they can share money together. It is funnies and happier than travel alone.
We can help each other and take many beautiful photo together.
6. What country do you most want to visit? Why? Do you think you will
ever go there?
I want visit France most because it is a beautiful country with a lot
of lavender. It is famous for food.
