1. Định nghĩa thì hiện tại đơn
Thì hiện tại đơn (Present simple) : Là một thì trong tiếng Anh hiện đại, nhằm để diễn
tả một hành động chung chung, tổng quát lặp đi lặp lại nhiều lần hoặc một sự thật
hiển nhiên hoặc một hành động diễn ra trong thời gian hiện tại.

2. Cách sử dụng thì hiện tại đơn

Ví dụ về thì hiện tại đơn
I usually go to bed at 11 p.m. (Tôi
thường đi ngủ vào lúc 11 giờ)

Diễn đạt một thói quen hoặc hành
động lặp đi lặp lại trong hiện tại

We go to work every day. (Tôi đi làm
mỗi ngày)
My mother always gets up early. (Mẹ
tôi luôn luôn thức dậy sớm.)

Chân lý, sự thật hiển nhiên

Sự việc xảy ra trong tương lai. Cách
này thường áp dụng để nói về thời
gian biểu, chương trình hoặc kế hoạch
đã được cố định theo thời gian biểu.

The sun rises in the East and sets in
the West. (Mặt trời mọc ở phía đông

và lặn ở phía Tây)
The earth moves around the Sun. (Trái
đất quay quanh mặt trời)
The plane takes off at 3 p.m. this
afternoon. (Chiếc máy bay hạ cánh lúc
3 giờ chiều nay)
The train leaves at 8 am tomorrow.
(Tàu khởi hành lúc 8 giờ sáng mai.)


3. Cấu trúc của thì hiện tại đơn khi dùng động từ “tobe”

S (Chủ ngữ ) +am / is/ are + ....




I am (I’m)
He/ she / It/ Chủ ngữ số ít + is
You/ We/ They / Chủ ngữ số nhiều + are

Phủ định

S + am / is/ are + not + ....

Nghi vấn

Am/ Is/ Are + S + .... ?

EX :

Thể khẳng định :
He is an engineer.
Thể phủ định :
He is not an engineer
Thể nghi vấn: ( câu hỏi)
Is he an engineer ?

*Ngoài

ra còn một số các cấu trúc quan trọng khác của
động từ tobe ở hiện tại đơn như sau :

- Wh-words (từ để hỏi )+ tobe (am/is/ are ) + S ?
EX : Who is she ?
What is your name ?

- Đại từ chỉ định + tobe (am/ is/ are ) + ...
This/ That/ There/ Here + is


These/ Those/ Here/ There + are
EX : This is my book
Those are pencil sharpeners

There are four people in my family.
Here is my pen.

4. Cấu trúc của thì hiện tại đơn khi dùng động từ thường

Lưu ý

Cách thêm s/es:
– Thêm s vào đằng sau hầu hết các động từ: want-wants; workworks;…
– Thêm es vào các động từ kết thúc bằng ch, sh, x, s: watchwatches;
miss-misses; wash-washes; fix-fixes;…
– Bỏ y và thêm ies vào sau các động từ kết thúc bởi một phụ âm
+ y:
study-studies;…


– Động từ bất quy tắc: Go-goes; do-does; have-has.

5. Dấu hiệu nhận biết thì hiện tại đơn
- Always (luôn luôn) , usually (thường xuyên), often (thường xuyên),
frequently (thường xuyên) , sometimes (thỉnh thoảng), seldom (hiếm khi),
regularly (thường xuyên).
- Rarely (hiếm khi), hardly (hiếm khi) , never (không bao giờ), generally
(nhìn chung)
- Every day, every week, every month, every year,……. (Mỗi ngày, mỗi tuần,
mỗi tháng, mỗi năm)
- Once/ twice/ three times/ four times….. a day/ week/ month/ year,…….
(một lần / hai lần/ ba lần/ bốn lần ……..một ngày/ tuần/ tháng/ năm)

Bài 1: Điền trợ động từ ở dạng phủ định.
