ESSAY COMPARISION AND CONTRAST
Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City are the big cities in Viet Nam. Ha Noi
is in the North of the country and Ho Chi Minh City is in the South. In
spite of the distance between them, both of the cities have some
similarities about the landscapes and people. Besides, there are also the
differences between two cities.
The first similarity is that both of them are the important cutural
and economic centers of Viet Nam. They are two of the biggest cities in
the country. Ha Noi is considered as the cultural and politic center of
the country because of its historic tradition. It is also the capital of the
country.Therefore, every year, there are a lot of festivals and summit
conferences organized here. Similarly, Ho Chi Minh City is the biggest
commercial center of Viet Nam. This city attracted the investments from
the foreign countries. Both Ha Noi and Ho Chi minh City keep an
important role in the economy of the country. Furthermore, people in
two places are very friendly. Most foreign visitors traveling to Ha Noi
and Ho Chi Minh City love people here because of their friendliness and
hospitality. One more similarity is that Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City
have lots of famous landscapes. Anyone who used to visit Ha Noi would
not forget the famous places such as Hoan Kiem Lake, Dong Xuan
Market and HO Chi Minh President's Temple. Like Ha Noi. Ho Chi minh
City has its pride.It is known with the famous places like Nha Rong
Habour, Ben Thanh Market...
Despite their similarities, Ha Noi are also different from Ho Chi
Minh City in some aspects. Firstly, Ha Noi brings an ancient beaty.
Maybe Ha Noi becomes ancient because of the old streets. It has thirty
-six streets and every street sells a different kind of goods. For example,
coming Hang Than Street, we can buy Lang Vong Green rice flake cake
and some special kinds of cake. Besides, along streets in Ha Noi are Milk
flower trees. It is a specific characteristic only in Ha Noi. The old

buildings with the red brick roofs or the moss- grown walls also make
Ha Noi become ancient. Unlike Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh CIty has a modern
and active beaty. There is not any houses with the red brick roofs, only
have the high buildings. And most the buildings are affected by Western
architecture. Also, there are not old streets in Ho Chi Minh City. Instead
of, it has the large highways. Perhaps ,Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City have
a different beaty. Moreover, Ha Noi is in the North , so it has 4 seasons:
the spring , the summer, the Autumn, and the winter, while it only has 2
seasons in Ho Chi Minh City. They are rainy season and sunny season.
One more difference is that the speed of living in Ha Noi is slower than
life in Ho Chi Minh City. Ha Noi people can wait in line for an half of
hour to buy an Trang Tien ice- cream. In spite of the busy life , Ha Noi
people still keep the traditional culture of Trang An people. They like the
family meals together. However, Sai Gon people are different.They are
always busy with their work. It seems that they are always in a hurry.
Every day, looking at the stream of traffic on Sai GOn streets, we will
know the speed of living here. Perhaps because of a busy life, Sai Gon
people are used to eating outside. They do not have enough time to
cook at home.These are difference between Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh
City.
My hometown is near Ha Noi and I moved to Ho Chi Minh City for
ten years. Therefore, two places are familiar with me.I love the peaceful
life in Ha Noi and I also love the bustling life in Go Chi Minh City. Ha Noi
and Ho Chi Minh City are always in my heart.
