To encourage sb to do sth
The government should encourage the use of public transport and limit the
ownership of private cars.
The government needs to upgrade the public transportation system, which citizens
could be encouraged to use instead of driving their own means of transport
such as motorbikes, cars regularly.
When young people do have some free time, we should encourage them to enjoy
it with their friends or to spend it doing sports and other leisure activities.
It is quite possible that alcohol adverts encourage excessive consumption and
underage drinking, yet restrictions have not been placed on this type of
advertising in the same way as smoking.
If we continue to promote and encourage university attendance, it will lead to a
better future for individuals and society.
Their parents are the ones who provide their evening meals so it is their
responsibility to ensure these meals are nutritious and encourage them to avoid
junk food and sugary snacks during the day.
The media should also be encouraged to present more positive stories in the
news about how crime is being tackled rather than the focus on the negative.
This money, it is argued, would be better spent on welfare and education
programmes that provide direct support for the population.
They could also impose ‘green taxes’ on drivers and airline companies. In this
way, people would be encouraged to use public transport and to take fewer
flights abroad, therefore reducing emissions.
Western countries could encourage people to stay in their own countries by direct
investment in projects like computer factories or by sending patients abroad for
treatment, as is already happening.


History proves that only when a government encourages people to express their
own idea and thought freely, can its country make progress and prosper.


In fact, his disobeying game rules sets a bad example for young people, and his
abandoned behavior encourages people to experiment with sex and violence.

The government and the whole society should do their utmost to prohibit the
unhealthy contents on TV and provide the children with a clean growing
environment
Most supermarkets now provide reusable bags for shoppers as well as ‘banks’
for recycling glass, plastic and paper in their car parks.
Governments should provide much better public transportation and charge
prices that are affordable for everyone.
Although almost everyone agrees about the necessity to provide children with the
best healthcare, there is some dispute about whether parents or the government
should decide what that care is
The world’s population has exploded within the past century and that traditional
methods of agriculture could not provide sufficient food for everyone.
A second measure would be for governments to encourage immigration in
order to increase the number of working adults who pay taxes.

Telephones and the Internet allow business people in different countries to
interact without ever meeting each other.
A well-educated workforce will allow a variety of companies and industries
to flourish, leading to trade with other countries, and increased wealth.
Although it can be argued that governments could save money by allowing this to
happen, I believe that these languages should be protected and preserved.


It may save money in the short term if we allow minority languages to
disappear, but in the long term this would have an extremely negative impact on
our cultural heritage.

Some people see their jobs as simply a means of earning money, and they are
happy if their salary is high enough to allow them to enjoy life outside work.
Firstly, some video games are rated according their content, so parents must check
this and ensure their children are not allowed to have access to games that are
unsuitable.

There is a strong argument that industrialised countries should help by allowing
higher levels of immigration
The principal reason why developed nations should help is that we now live in a
global village and it is no longer possible to ignore what happens on the other side
of the world.
If governments did make fuel more expensive, it might well help reduce the
amount of carbon dioxide we produce and so slow down the rate of global
warming and air pollution.
If governments spent less money on space research, then they would be able to
help solve some of these problems such as population control, elimination of
diseases like cholera, global warming and food shortages.
It is important that children leave school with some knowledge of art, music and
sport as all these are all help develop aspects of young people’s personalities.
Some people choose a career because they want to help others and contribute
something positive to society.


A difficulty is that it is very hard for governments to make a difference to the
individual choices people make. It might help, however, to ban advertisements
for unhealthy foods on television and to require companies to provide proper
meal facilities for their employees.

they have more than one child.
