GOLDEN STAR FRUIT TREE
Once up on the time, there was a rich man who lived in the village. when he died, he left his two
sons a huge fortune. But two brothers were entirely different. The elder brother was greedy ( his
name is Anh), but the younger was very kind(his name is An) .
So after the parents death, the elder claimed the fortune and left his younger brother only star
fruit tree(A very productive tree that give sour fruit). The younger brother took good care of his
tree, watering it everydy and hoping that it would give him a lot of fruit so that he could make a
living by selling it. On the other hand, the elder brother was so happy with his inheritance that
he had nothing to worry about.
In small hut, when he climbed up the tree, he and his wife chat together.
W: Over there, there, there...Honey!This harvest, how is luckly! star fruit gives sour fruits. All of
them are ripe.
An: That great! if pick up all of them and sell them, we can earn some money and buy few rice.
Sudenly, a big raven appear and eat a lot of star fruits. An and his wife beg the raven
An: hey!hey! go away, please don’t eat any more!
W: Go, go. please don’t. this tree is all my fortune, if you eat all of them, how we live?
Miracle! The raven upon hearing lamentations, perched down and replied in a human voice:
R: Star fruits i eat, with gold i pay, be ready with a three-foot bag and follow me to get it.
They were very worry, They disscused alots and decided to sew the bag according to the
indicated size, waiting for the return of the bird. A few day later the bird come back, ate all the
star fruits then got down from the tree to invite the husband.
R: Take a seat on my back with a bag.
W: My honey, Be careful, careful. I’ll wait for you.( she cried out)
After.
An asked: where do we go?
R: Be quite!
An closed his eyes. The bird took him very far before landing on the deserted island
R: That here.
An: You lied me. They are stones, and there aren’t gold . you are bad guy!
R: Pick up and put the stones in the bag. Hurry up. We have no time and we have to come back
before the sun goes down.

He filled the bag and the revan took him back to his home.From then on, the couple knew
opulence, lived in luxury places.they often gave help to the poor.
An: Poor you, let hand some money, they’ll help you in your life.
Neighbors: thank you so much, you are too kind.
An: Don’t mention it. if you have any difficult problems. let me know, i can help you.
On the ceremony of the father dead, the younger brother invited the elder brother to his house
Full of despise of his younger brother, the elder couple decline and ask that the younger carpeted
the road with mats and adorned the gate with gold if he wanted to receive them.
Curious, the elder coupleskillfully tried to penetrate the mystery.An, honest and frank, did not
hesitate to tell him the story
An: when i climb up the tree and pick star fruits, a giant raven come and eat a lots of fruits. he
said “ Star fruits i eat, with gold i pay, be ready with a three-foot bag and follow me to get it”
The elder couple proposed an exchange of their fortune for only the hut and the star fruit tree.
Anh’ wife: I’ll give you all my fortune, you only give me your hut and star fruit tree. You were
too rich. Now i want this tree and meet the bird.
An: Ok! i agree.
Anh’ wife: I don’t know if when the raven come back.
An: Not yet. It said when star fruits are ripe, he’ll come back.
Day by Day, the elder brother couple wait for the bird. that year, the star fruit tree had a lot of
fruits. One day, the raven came back to eat the star fruits.
Anh’wife: look. the bird coming back. you must say something. say for me.
Anh: Say what?. I don’t know.
Anh’wife: you are stupid. let me do.
The bird, the bird, hix hix. eat more and more, please.
R:Star fruits i eat, with gold i pay, be ready with a three-foot bag and follow me to get it.
Then the bird flapped wings to fly. That mid-night, elder brother couple didn’t sleep.
Anh: sew a bag according to the indicated size.
Anh’wife: You are foolish. he is sacred bird, he can bring everything. I think he just are lazy.

Anh: oh my wife, you so great. right! he just are lazy.
Anh’wife:So I’ll sew a bigger bags.
The elder greedy and curious, brought with him two big six-foot bags and clamb up raven’back.


Anh’wife: honey, try your best and take more and more gold for me. you can do it.
Anh: ok! Honey! Be wait for me. I will back home with a lot of gold. Bye honey
Anh’wife: Wait honey, I changed my mind. Let me go with you so we will get more gold. Or
even we can clear the gold island
Anh: It’s brilliant. I am glad to have the smart and beautiful wife like you. The more people
come, the more gold we will get. Hurry honey, climb up with me.
The greedy elder brother’s wife, quickly clamb up raven’s back to join with her husband
When they came island,..
Anh: woa! Oh my god! There are too much here! I will be the richest. I am dreaming
Elder brother’s wife clapped her husband’s face
Anh’wife: No, you’re not. Now giving me one of the bag and collecting the gold. Hurry. We
don’t have many time in here
The couple filled there bag while the bird said:
The bird: hurry up. Its time to go. Quikly! Quikly
Anh: please, wait for me some minutes. I’m almost done. Hurry up Honey. Or the bird wil leave
us here
Anh’wife: All right, all right
Bird: we have to come back before the sun goes down.
But the elder couple didn’s hear anything. they still collected the gold.
Finaly, they brought the bags near the bird difficultly. On the way back.
R: I”m tired, let put apart of them in the sea. quickly, quickly.
Anh: never mind. my gold, my gold.
Lets try your best. We are going to come back.
Anh’wife: Ignore it my husband. Bird , please try your best. When arriving home, i will let you
eat the rest of the fruit on the tree

Burdened by over weight of two bags the raven who couldn’t not hold any longer, swayed and
sent the elder brother and the sister-in-law to the sea.
Anh: what’s happen. The bird looked very tired
Anh’wife: May be we are too heavy
Anh: No, oh my god! help me
Anh’wife (scream) ahhh!


Both the elder brother and wife was fell to the sea
R (talk to the younger brother – An): Your elder brother and sister-in-law have lost their life
because of their greediness. You should take care of yourself
From then on, the younger brother lived happy ever after

Once up on the time, there was a poor farmer couple who have planted the corn field in the edge
of the forest. When the corn are nearly ripe, there was a pack of monkeys which came down
from the mountain and stealing the corn for eating. The farmer and his wife have to stay in the

field and keep their corn away from the monkeys. One day, the farmer’s wife talked to husband
Farmer’s wife: Within a few days more, we won’t have any corn in the field to eat. The monkeys
is too crowded and we cannot stay up at night to guard our corn field. Althought the corn is not
ripe yet, we should harvest it for not wasting our effort
Farmer: You’re right my wife. Tommorrow we will harvest all the corn
The next day, the farmer couple went to the corn field , harvesting the corn
Farmer: what should we do with the corn my wife?
Farmer’s wife: I think the corn will be delicious if we boil and barbecue it


They boil and barbecue the corn and it
Farmer: We have stay up many nights for keeping the corn field away from the monkeys. Now
i’m very tired. We should sleeping for our health
That night, the monkeys came for eating. Seeing the the empty field
Monkey 1: Hey, where is the corn? It is empty here
Monkeys 2: Look, There is a couple here. They don’t move. May be they ate our corn and dead
already?
Monkey 3: What should we do?
Monkey 4: i think we should carry them to bury
Monkey Chief: Ok. Ok. We will carry these two pleople to the gold Mountain
The next day, when the farmer couple got up
Farmer’s wife: Where are we?
Farmer: I don’t know. I think monkeys carry us to this place while we were sleeping
Farmer’s wife: What’s that? The stone is sparkling
Farmer: it’s gold. We are rich
The Farmer couple joyfully collect the gold then return home. From that day, they become rich
In that village there is a wealthy man. Seeing the farmer become rich in one night, the rich man
was very curious
Rich man: why they are so rich. Yesterday when i met them, they still very poor and asked me to
loan money

The rich man came to the farmer house and asked
Rich man: Why you are so rich in such the short time. Yesterday i just lend you money. Please
tell me how did you became this
Farmer couple honestly tell the story
Farmer: We ate th boild and grilled corn and then sleeping
Farmer’s Wife : then monkeys carried us to the mountain of gold so we are rich
Rich man: Thank you. I’m very glad to see you became rich. As our ancestors always said:
“Having the relatives living far were not helpful by having the next door neighbor”
The rich man returned home and told everything to his wife
Rich man’s wife: really? I also want to be just like them
Rich man: how can i help you to make it become true?


Rich man’s wife: you’re stupid. We will now come to their house to ask for buying that field then
we will waiting for the monkeys
Rich man (laugh): You’re not beautiful but smart too
The rich man and woman came to the farmer house to ask for buying the field then they hired
men to plant the corn. As it happens like it was before. The monkeys again came to ate the corn
when the corn was nearly ripe
The rich man and his wife came to field harvest the corn then boild, grilled , ate and slept
Rich man’s wife: it’s difficult too eat for me
Rich man: Try, my honey
Rich man’s wife: you should eat more. Weneed streght to collect the gold
Rich man: i’m stuff
Rich man’s wife: Here drink a little water and eat
Rich man: now i am full.We should lie down and pretend to sleep in order to wait for the
monkeys now
Rich man’s wife: Ouch.. the mosquito bite me. It’s hurt
Rich man: Lying down . quiet
The monkeys then came and saw two people was lying

Monkey 1: there are two people lying
Monkey 4: we will carry them to bury
Monkeys carried the wealthy man and wealthy woman
Monkey 3: where should we bury?
Monkey 2: let ask the monkey chief
Monkey Chief: We will bury them in the silver mountain because we burried the previous couple
in the gold mountain
Hearing this, the rich man’s wife cannot calm down and kept silent any more
Rich man’s wife: Bury us in the Gold mountain not bury in the silver mountain
Monkeys: They’re alive. Run
Rich man: hey don’t drop me
Rich man’s wife and rich man scream: Ahhhhhh
Hearing the young woman shouted, the monkeys scared. They threw the wealthy man and wife
to the deep abyss

Một hôm, hai vợ chồng bàn vói nhau, người vợ nói : - Cứ dà này, chỉ trong một và i dêm nữa rẫy
bắp ta sé không còn trái nào, vì bây khi dông quá, chúng ta không thé thúc mâi tu dêm này qua
dêm khác mà canh dupe, chi bàng ta bè náu än non cho roi Nguôi chông nghe vp nói có lí thi
bàng long. Búa áy hai vo" chóng bè báp non, phân thi lupc, phân thi nuóng än Tói hôm dó hp di
ngù söm vi dá thtfc nhiêu dêm. Dâu canh mçt thi bây khi trên tram con kéo nhau vao rây báp.
Lúc chúng di ngang chai tháy hai vo chóng anh nông dân ngù say, không cu"a quây, và lai ngùi

rồi đến nhà anh nông dân xin mua lại miếng rẫy trên. Nhà phú
hộ tham lam, được miếng rẫy của người nông dân thì lòng
mừng xiết kể, bèn gọi trai làng cày trỉa bắp ngay. Chẳng mấy
chốc rẫy bắp đã trổ cờ ra trái. Hai vợ chồng phú hộ kéo nhau
đến giữ rẫy. Rồi cũng bẻ bắp non luộc, nướng ăn. Họ còn cố ý
ăn nhiều bắp hơi sống, và thức đợi bầy khỉ đến. Một lát sau,
bầy khỉ đến rất đông. Chúng thấy hai người nằm im tưởng chết
và lại ngửi mùi thối thì lại hè nhau khiêng đi chôn. Chúng
khiêng vợ chồng người phú hộ chuyền trên cành cây cao để
vượt qua con suối sâu Đang lưng chừng giữa suối thì chúng
dừng lại hỏi nhau nên đem đi chôn nơi nào. Bọn khỉ báo nhau


đem chôn vào núi bạc, vì đôi vợ chồng trước đã chôn vào núi
vàng. Vợ người phú hộ khi nghe bầy khỉ bảo như vậy thì nghĩ
ức, bèn nói to rằng : - Chôn núi vàng thôi, đừng chôn núi bạc !
Bầy khỉ nghe tiếng bà ta thì hốt hoảng bỏ rơi hai vợ chồng
người phú hộ xuống vực sâu, hè nhau nhảy lên đỉnh núi cao.
Thế là hết đời vợ chồng kẻ tham lam
...
