This procedure covers the activities required for testing and commissioning of the following

The Safety Knowledge in operation
Before the start of any testing it should be confirmed that all power supplies to the system have
been isolated or that they are in a known condition. The Commissioning engineer is
responsible for the safety of those personnel working of the system Check for the presence of
harmful electrical or mechanical potential energy before starting work.

1.3.2

Project lockout / Tagout(LOTO) procedures must be adhere to all test area.

1.3.3

Fire is strictly prohibited on site, no smoking there must be a warning mark in hazardous area.

1.3.4

Strictly comply with the safety and environmental protection regulations of local government.

1.3.5

In order to ensure the reliable operation of every part of the system, strictly obey the
corresponding procedures.

1.3.6

Have a regular maintenance for the long-time standby equipment

1.3.7


Obey the relevant safety regulations of the power plant during commissioning all along. Ensure
the successful commissioning work.

1.3.8

All personnel directly involved with the commissioning that will attend a kickoff safety meeting to
review for the dangers. Ensure that all personnel understand the process and the operation.

▣ Note 1 : Test method for CT
- Safety Precaution
1. Wear the insulation glove, shoes and helmet.
2. Install the safety tape around test site.
- Test method
1. Make connections per diagram.
2. Select run test
3. Select resistance, excitation & ratio test
4. Select voltage and current range
5. Set Name Plate Ratio
6. Select default Test Note
7. Start test
8. Print test results

▣ Note 2 : Polarity check method for PT

1. Verify that the current transformer is being isolated from power source.
2. Make test setup as shown above.
A 6 10 V lantern-type battery can be used as DC voltage source.

3. Watching the analog-type meter, apply DC voltage momentarily by using the switch.( An analog-type
milli-ammeter or milli-voltmeter can be used on this test)
4. Record the polarity of current transformer.

▣ Note 3 : Ratio check method for PT
After connecting the power supply to primary winding, read the primary voltage V1
and induced secondary voltage V2, Calculate the ratio with readings and record it
on attachment 1.

▣ Note 4 : Polarity check method for PT
Connect the circuit as follows(see Fig.2).
Close the switch(SW1) momentarily and observe the deflection of voltmeter(V). If
polarity is in accordance with terminal marking, voltmeter will deflect momentarily
to upscale when switch is closed.

▣ Note 5 : check method for Operation Characteristic Test
1. Check operating rightly by close, open CB in local /remote condition.
2. Earth by connecting earth wire to earth terminal of test equipment.
3. Connect main contact connection jack to main contact connection terminal and
then connect main contact wire to both ends of ES or bushing.
4. One end of close, open source connection jack connect to test equipment and
the other end connect to close, open terminal of VCB terminal
5. Figure out property data by operating circuit breaker(Operate over 3 times manually)
