8. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:
8.1. New contributions/or academic and theories of the thesis:
On the basis of studying and absorbing the rational elements of published works related
to the issues of managing conflict of interest in performing public duties, the thesis has
developed and pointed out the conceptual meaning, identified characteristics, and analyzed
the roles, content and requirements in order to improve the law on managing conflict of
interest in performing public duties.
8.2. New findings and main results of the thesis:
- Situation of the law on managing conflict of interest in performing public duties in
Vietnam shows that besides the advantages, the legal system on this issue still exists
limitations and inadequacies in both content and forms with both subjective and objective
causes that impact on the efficiency of implementing the Party's and State's viewpoints and
policies on anti-corruption, building an integrity and effective administration.
- In order to improve the law on managing conflict of interest in performing public
duties in Vietnam today, it is necessary to synchronously implement the following
solutions: 1) To review, systematize and evaluate existing legal documents related to
managing conflict of interest; 2) To amend and supplement the current legal provisions on
managing conflict of interest in performing public duties; 3) To raise awareness for cadres,

civil servants, officials and people about conflicts of interest and to promote the role of
society in preventing conflicts of interests in performing public duties; 4) To ensure
conditions for improving the law on managing conflict of interest in performing public
duties; 5) To enhance international cooperation in building and implementing the law on
managing conflict of interest in performing public duties.
