IELTS Speaking Part 1: GOING OUT
1. Who do you usually want to go out with?
2. How often do you go out with your friends?
3. Where do you like to go when you are out with your friends?
4. Do you like to go out with a big group or just with some friends?
1. (Who do you usually want to go out with?)
(Answer) Well, I only love hanging out with my best friend.
(Give a reason for your answer) My best friend is Phuong Chau, in whom I can confide. We
have known each other since high school and maintained this special bond till now. To me, she is
a dependable and sincere friend who is always willing to do stupid things with me, who gave me
a lot of motivation to overcome fierce times. When I find myself going through a hard time, she
never failed to cheer me up and sailed me through both emotional and academic setbacks.
2. (How often do you go out with your friends?)
(Answer) In fact, I don’t usually.
(Give a reason for your answer) I’m quite an introvert and somehow prudent in relationship,
so I consider few to be my close friends. Actually, I usually don’t get on well with complicated
people. Therefore, there are few occasions that allow me to go out and interact with others.
3. (Where do you like to go when you are out with your friends?)
(Answer) Well, that depends.
(Give a reason for your answer) We sometimes go to the restaurants to enjoy the tasty food if
someone finds a decent place; and if we have plenty of time, we’d like to plan a hike or camp in
the nearby forest park to enjoy the natural life. That would be a very memorable experience.
4. (Do you like to go out with a big group or just with some friends?)
(Answer) To me, it's better to have 3 or 4 genuine friends than a lot of acquaintances.
(Give a reason for your answer) As I have put it, I am generally more of an introvert, so I prefer
to get to know my smaller friend group better than hanging out with large groups all the time.
We enrich each other, support each other and like each other. I would never have maintained
such tight, enduring bonds if I hadn’t narrowed my circle. In the end, whether one has a small,
cozy group of friends or a larger, more boisterous gaggle may depend on individual personalities
and circumstances.
