Topic 1 Describe of your family who are very close to
I am going to talk about my mother who has played an essential role in my life. She is my guardian, my
friend and my role model. My mother is in her forties now, but she still maintains a youthful look. In
terms of personality, she is an extremely compassionate and kind-hearted person who always takes care
of her children. She really is a mother and a friend to me as she always gives me valuable advice and is
willing to stand by me through all the ups and downs of my life. Although sometimes she drives me
crazy due to her being a perfectionist, I still hold so much pride and respect for her. I am also influenced
by her strong-will. Ever since she was young, she had to learn to be independent as my grandparents
were very busy and constantly on the go. She had to take care of almost everything: her younger
brother, household chores and herself. Such challenges shaped her into the strong person that she is
now. Her determination, as well as her perseverance, are really something for us to look up to. And I
keep reminding myself every day to be as strong as my mother, a real-life “wonder woman.”
Topic 2: Describe a teacher that you adimire
During my student days, I met numerous teachers who had taught me a lot of things. There were some
that I disliked and some that I truly respected (or respected very much). When I was in grade 11, I met
Mr. Thanh, a middle-aged and outstanding math teacher in my high school. He could explain away
difficult math problems in an easy-to-understand manner. However, that was not the main reason why I
liked him. Rather, it was on the account of the manner of his interaction with his students. He treated
them as if they were his friends. In his class, we often engaged in thoughtful conversations. The many
funny stories that he shared with us were real and meaningful. He taught us how to conduct ourselves
properly in life and how to treat people fairly. He was the one who encouraged me to excel in my study.
His words of advice have stayed with me until today, and I will never forget him.
Topic 3: Describe a piece of equipment you often use at home
I often use my laptop at home. I use it to communicate with my friends via facebook and zalo, and other
social networks, and, get information such as effective English learning method, cooking recipe, and daily
news. In addition, I enjoy watching movies and listening to music by my computer. I bought that one
which I am using about a year ago, and gave an old one for my mother. The new one is much better than
the old one, for example, the screen is bigger, and the speed of processing is faster. I think the most
important point of laptop is that I can bring it easily and get information everywhere. I also have a
smartphone, but in my opinion, laptop is more useful than a smartphone. The difference between laptop
and smartphone is that the quantity of tasks which I can do at the same time. While a smartphone can

only do one thing on one screen, a computer can do many things on the same condition. Besides, I can
operate laptop easily than a smartphone because laptop is operated with mouse.
My laptop is necessary for my life because I get a lot of information and do various activities by
computer. If I didn't have that one, it would be much harder to live and communicate now.


Topic 4: Describe restaurent
– I would like to talk about a fast food restaurant that I really enjoy going to. The restaurant is called
McDonald’s, and it is located in a road called Cong Hoa Road in Cam Giang, which is quite close to where
I’m living at the moment. Normally it takes me only 5 minutes to walk to the restaurant.
– I go to McDonald’s quite often actually, because I’m very lazy to cook, and I’m really bad at cooking to
be honest. I would say that I come to McDonald’s around 3 to 4 times a week, and most of the times I go
there for lunch after finishing my morning lessons.
– The main type of food that is served in McDonald’s is burgers, and it has a very famous product which
is a burger called the “Big Mac”. There are several different types of burgers, from cheese burgers to beef
burgers and also those that have chicken. Beef burgers are my favourite type. Also, the restaurant offers
very nice ice creams.
– I think the main reason why I like McDonald’s is because I find the food there very tasty. And the prices
are quite cheap compared to Burger King, for example. Another reason is that the staff members at the
restaurant are incredibly friendly. Every time I eat at McDonald’s, I feel satisfied with the food and the
services.
Topic 5:
I have a lot of friends, but Tan is one of my closest friends, I first met him at university. He comes from
Kim Dong District, Hung Yen province. He is the person who can share all kinds of difficulties and
happiness in life. Not only is he helpful ,but also he is intelligent. He is also good at both teaching English
and using computers. I first met him when we were at Hai Duong teachers' training colleague. Although
we are living far from each other, I often contact with him by email, chatting, or phone calls .Sometimes,
on special occasions I come along his family and so does he. We often talk to each other about our
family, hobbies and work .We are really goodfriends
Topic 6: Describe you have visted in your country which is famous for ít beauty

Last summer, I was lucky to have a chance to visit Sa Pa with my colleagues. It took us 10 hours by train
and 1 hour by car to get there. I was very surprised at the cool weather and magnificent views there. Sa
Pa is in Lao Cai province and it is near China. It is very famous for its cool weather in the summer and
falling snow in the winter. Be sides, Sa Pa has some local special food which attracts a lot of tourists
every year. In Sa Pa, I visited some famous places such as Bac waterfall, Ham Rong mountain with some
flower gardens. Sa Pa made a great impression on me and may be I will never forget this trip
Topic 7: Describe hometown
I was born and raised in Ho Chi Minh city which is located in the Southern part of Vietnam. It is a
metropolitan area with millions of dwellers. As a matter of fact, I believe it is the most populated city in
Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh City is your typical metropolitan city. The city is open 24-7, and is home to many
cafes and restaurants serving food from all around the world. The traffic is dizzying and life happens at


full-speed. It has all the entertainment services young people look for. Entertainment centers as well as
beautiful landscapes in this city could be easily be found. I like the city’s dynamic lifestyle: young and
busy. It attracts me and people from every walks of life thanks to its open atmosphere, a practical
attitude, a mix culture, a rapid rhythm….the city never sleeps. This city provides everyone so many
opportunities to build up their careers, especially young people who want to build a brilliant social
position. For the moment, I am quite happy living here, but sometimes I really want to live in a place
with a lower cost of living and leisurely pace of life. Ho Chi Minh City always makes me get in the rat race
which sometimes annoys me because I prefer a sense of community. That is why I usually close down a
weekend, and visit some places on the outskirt of the city like Vung Tau. Ho Chi Minh city has a lot of
tourist attractions which are really worth coming. Thanks to convenient bus routes, I can get tourists to
travel around where I live. Visitors will be really keen on activities in the heart of the city such as the fair,
art exhibition, and so on
Topic 8 Decribe the city you would like to come
There are lots of famous cities all over the world. However, I would like to visit Paris most. That is a
famous capital city of France which is attracted millions of tourists every year. Paris is famous for not only
its beauty, butalso itsfriendliness ofpeoplethere. If Iwere inParis, I'd visit Eiffel Tower, Sense river and
Khai Hoan Mon square. Paris is also called to be the royal city oflight,so nothing is more interesting for us

to go shopping in the e vening and enjoy the atmosphere there.There fore, I hope I will visit Paris one
day if I have a chancw
Topic 9 & 10:Talk about favorite subject (Talk about your learing english)
I learn many subjects at my school but i like English most because of three reasons:
Firstly, There are about 1,5 billion people are speaking all the world. English is a very popular language
and it is the offical language of the United Nations.
Secondly, if you're good at english, you can communicate with foreigners and will benefit you one day
when you need a good job.
Finally, it's easy to understand English books. Thanks to English, I can know many information because I
have to look for new word on the Internet or translate into Vietnamese. Thanks to that, I can improve my
level.English is very interesting and great. I love it and I will continues it in the future.As you can see
English is useful in life. All of us study it in everyday situations and activities. The language is quite simple
and logic. I use it all the time. This is why I like English and it is my favourite subject in school.
Topic 11
Lu is my classmate and is also my best friend. Last Sunday was her birthday. On that day she invited all of
her classmates including me to her house to join in her birthday party. The party started at 6 p.m and
when I came, almost classmates were present. I saw Lu talking to her friend so I came up to her and gave
her my present. At 7p.m, the birthday cake was displayed prominently in the middle of the room.
Everyone gathered and sang 'Happy Birthday' song to Lu. Then Lu wished something and blew out the
candles. We ate birthday cake and drank fruit juice. Next we listened to pop music and danced together .


The party finished at 8 p.m and I stayed to the end to help Lu clean up the mess. In short , Lu's Birthday
party is the most interesting one I've attended.

Topic 12 Describe something you do in your free time
Normally, when I have free time, I usually play sports, watch tv, surf webs and read books. After
learnt stressful hours , activities such as help me entertain and relax. And playing sport is the free time
activity I like best. Firstly, I like to play sport because it is really a healthy activity . You knows, sports
provides many benefits for our health. It can improve health and help us to be strong. Addition, sport

help us increase in statue and have a excellent body. Secondly, I like sports. I fell as dynamic as possible.
Moreover, It make me full of energy. Lastly, well, It is what I enjoy most when playing sports. That is
sports can help us take up the community. We will knows a lot of peoples because of having the same
interests in play sport. True me, I was acquainting a lot of friend when I play sports. In short, I like to play
sport because it provides many benefits for me. And you? What are activities you like best in your free

Topic 13 Describe an interesting trip you have taken
During my summer holiday last year, I decided to visit Ba Ria – Vung Tau with my family and some
friends for a few days. In the early morning of the first day we set off from Hanoi by car. On the way
there we enjoyed the wonderful weather with sun and breeze. When we arrived at noon, we
immediately took a cab to the hotel because we all felt tired. For the next two days, we did a lot of
sightseeing because the city was beautiful with many tourist attractions, such as the statues and
pagodas. We also went to the beach for swimming and sunbathing. On the last day, we paid a visit
to my friend’s family who are locals there. They treated us with an amazing lunch. Then we all had a
rest and in the afternoon took the coach back to Hanoi. That was a wonderful journey and we all felt
relaxed and refreshed.

Topic 14: Describe your favorite sport
My favorite sport is football . Although I’m not good at playing very much but i like it anyway . Football is
a collective sport that means if a team wants to win a game , they must be a well-combine one . There
are eleven players per team , when the game starts , they try to protect their goal from the opponent 's
attack ,beside , they also try to attack the opponent's goal ,too . Foot ball is a sport which associate
between individual skill and team-work skill make me interested it so much . Addition , playing football
help me to prove my health and make friend very easily . After a stressful match , we sit together in the
center, take a short rest and talking about the macth in a friendly way . In conclusion , i like playing
footballl very much and i wish that one day i could promote my playing skill .
Topic 15: Describe favorite season or time of year


Today, I am going to tell you about my favourite season. Honestly, I love all the seasons but I think my

favourite is spring. Usually, it starts at the end of December in our country and lasts till the middle of
March.
The weather in Vietnam is the best during spring because you will not suffer from the excessive heat of
summer or the freezing wind of winter. The temperature is tolerable both day and night. One of the best
things about spring is that, during this poetic season, nature displays itself in beautiful green and flowers
are noticed everywhere. Fruit trees, such as cherry and apricot trees are in full blossom, and colourful
flowers such as daffodils and marigolds bloom in parks and gardens. The sounds of spring are wonderful
too. A typical spring day will begin when some birds start their morning chorus as they look for a mate.
We also celebrate Tet, one of the most anticipated holidays by the Vietnamese people. This is an
occasion for pilgrimages, family reunions and many festivals. Parties full of delicious traditional dishes
are the main theme for the whole holiday of Tet.
I am of the opinion that different kinds of weather can affect people’s health. Even among those in the
prime of health, an excessively hot or cold day can lead to illness or injury, let alone the elderly, who can
be more susceptible to extreme weather conditions. Weather can also make a huge impact on people’s
lives. Obviously, the weather dictates what you are going to wear for the day, often depending on the
time of year. Also, winter snow storms in Western countries can cancel school or make your morning
commute a hassle.
Topic 16:Talk about future job
Today, it is not easy to choose a career. Hundreds of students pass various examinations every year and
compete with one another for positions in the various professions which are not so many as there are
applicants. I would, however, like to choose teaching as my career.
Teaching is an interesting career for several reasons. As a teacher I can learn many things, especially if I
teach to an udder-secondaryschool. If I teach History or English, for example, I have to read many books
to make my teaching lessons more interesting to my pupils. Thus, I can acquire more knowledge of the
subjects that I teach than what I can learn from the class text books. It is indeed afact that a teacher
learns a lot from the class text books; but that is hardly enough to make the teacher’s lessons interesting
to pupils.
Topic 17:
As for the girl , longing to find his berth firm that has become increasingly come to expect more sacred .
A wedding took place is the end of a long period of mutual understanding , as well as to mark the start of

a new life with the joy and challenges ahead . The past the 1st of May , I was fortunate to attend such a
ceremony - her wedding Linda - the beautiful girl with blue eyes. Around 10:00 a.m we gathered for
departure preparation . No one told anyone but my kids always look for the best costume , most polite
countenance so radiant with joy . On arriving, we walked into orderly queues Acts regulations, and
quickly found their seats. After her parents' speech bride groom bride has donated a special gift, it is an
awkward kiss, hastily. We handed sent congratulations to her happiness, she welcomed with a bright


smile and heartfelt thanks sentence. End of the party, we've taken a lot of pictures with her.Car wheels
slowly turned, looked at the new couple is watching us. "She must be happy, have fun!"


Topic 18
I was lucky to have a good chance to visit Thailand last summer. This country is in the South East Asia and
it's not very far from our country. It only took me four hours to get there by plane. I was really attracted
by beautiful views and churches there. However, the most interesting thing that made a great impression
on me is Thailand food. I must say that I like Thailand food very much,it's really tasty. Furthermore, I also
attended some cultural activities there.I think it's a memorable journey and I hope I'll go there again one
day
